any suggestions for my tatoo

im finally getting my tatoo soon, but not sure exactly what i want yet. im gonna either get it on my left shoulder or my left chest just below my neck. i want something to mark my sobriety but this is for life and i want the right one. any suggestions what to get??? i don't have any tatoos, but have been talking about getting one for awhile so im done talking about it and just gonna do it. any ideas???

Giz, put it on your upper arm.  That is the coolest place to put a tatoo.  I love them there on a guy.

A tattoo HAS to have special meaning to you or you WILL regret it!! I have 4 and they are sooooooo addicting...LMAO...I want MORE and fully plan on getting some more!! I think whatever you decide (which I like what you have picked so far), it will have special meaning because it is marking your sobriety. The only thing I was thinking is getting something that shows the struggle and hell of addiction and then the "rebirth" of being clean. The idea of the tombstone and sun that Magi had is awesome!! Something to that effect so it really reminds you of the BAD and the good! Good luck picking something!! Placement of it is surely up to you and the chest or shoulderblade is a good spot and the shoulder like we talked about does NOT hurt!! LOL....like I said, mine tickled in some spots. I also like the calf idea too. Decisions, decisions.....LMAO

I like the idea of a tattoo marking your sobriety, I also got one....maybe two...lol, marking my sobriety and other things. When i see them it sure reminds me about all i have done to get where i'm at!

I say get it on your chest...it would look awesome! I bet you will get more, they are so addictive. lol.
The most painful one i got (i have a a few) was down my side, inbetween my back and stomach, down my ribs, boy that was kinda painful. It took 2 and a half hours to do. The minute he got to the top part of my ribs, it felt like it was vibrating through my jaw. LOL.

I got mine over 20 years ago -- I based my decision on the content AND location.  I have a palm tree on my left breast, and paw prints marching across my toes.  To me, it was important to be able to cover them if I so choose.
The best advice I can give you is to make sure how you will feel about it/them in 10 years .. 20 ... 30 ... 40 years, AND also WHERE you have it/them.

lizzie i just googled that and i see one that i may want. it's a yin yang and inside it is a dragon and a tiger, it looks amazing. now where to put it, shoulder, or chest below my neck, im thinking on my chest, it won't hurt there, lol.

In Chinese philosophy, yin and yang are opposite forces that form a whole. Everything contains both yin and yang in a balance that is always changing.

i looked at some yin and yang tattoos and some can be pretty awesome.  now i'm not talking about putting a little yin/yang cirlce somewhere...but some of the pictures had great designs incorporated around and through them.  google it and take a look.

just really put alot of thought into it and dont rush into anything. You have to totally make sure that you are in love with the tatoo and the idea and meaning itself before you even get it. Its something you will have on you for life. With all of mine i had an idea and then waited a while just to make sure i really truelly loved it. There is no rush!!  Plus we wouldnt want you to ruin our perfect Gizzy!!!
