anyone ever heard of or taken provigil?

hey guys. thnk you for all the info about lupus and your encouraging words. her doctor that will be treating the disease is starting her on provigil. i did some research online and it seems to be pretty safe and has a lower probability of addiction is far less than the other options... the constant fatigue seems to be her biggest day to day issue. minus the depression and anxiety but that is getting much better since she went into treatment...has anyone ever used provigil or knows someone that has? any noticable side effects? and cautions you would give? i just want to make ure kristen gets whatever she needs to make the disease managable...let me know. thank you.

Provigil is a stimulant (not an amphetamine...) that is used frequently to amp up activity levels......a friend had a kidney removed and had some minor trouble with the other also - fatigue was a large complaint - he started provigil and has nothing but praise for it. Few contraindications that I know of ...... some say that druggies that have speed as a DOC should stay away from it. I used it and had no desire to find any real amphetamines.....its more like a couple cups of coffee without the caffeine jitters......... it should be a good thing for her!!
