Im very embarrassed to ask such a thing with out knowing u all to well,but here goes.I have been clean from drugs since july 17, heroin was my drug of choice, and I entered a methadone program on aug 20th. I refuse to complain about the side effect from this drug because it is saving my life, although I have a concern about a personal problem. since the methadone treatment has began I have not been able to find any pleasure touching my body. I used to never have any trouble with this in the past, but now here I am. any thoughts

Whooooo my virgin eye's !!!!!  lol.  Just kidding.......I have to agree that it is the methadone putting all of your senses into a coma.  I really have no experience with methadone, but when I was taking Vicodin.......I forgot about that stuff.....I won't say for how long, but......oh, yeah i will......why not?.....I talk about everything else that should be private anyway......I think it two years.....yep!  Vicodin was all I needed for a good time,,,, distraction....I'm guessing that this might be an issue for as long as your on it?  I surely hope not as this is something that is truly bothering you.....

Narcotics in general..if used in high amounts..can and often affect sex drive...narcs numb ur feelings..but also ur tactile sensations....drinking too much alcohol does the same thing to peole as a rule....u r working towards a goal...these things return when u get totally clean

I so think the pills kill your sex drive...they did mine...But once clean it comes back...and strong..LOL

I don't believe that methadone or sub saves an adicts life, it's only a tool . I don't like to give drugs that much power but these meds are important. The methadone is a real joy killer. You need to lower the dose or maybe the doc can give you welbutrin which can really help. I was on street dope too and methadone did help me for a time and I'm not against it but it has to  be used wisely. Not for vicodin addicts and people need to know that the way clinics are today with  the sky's the limit dosing, these things can happen and more. all best

The drugs do numb you up everywhere. My wife complains about me all the time. That was one of the key reason for me quiting. I totally lost my sex drive and "personal feelings" Drugs mess up your pituatary gland and other organs. It is a common problem with most drug users. It well get better after you are of the meth. Which by the way, dont stay on it to long or it will be just as tough as getting off the H.

I am betting its the methadone I had the same problem when I was on pills then as soon as I went off them my drive came back full force.Have you ever tried some of the ladies stimulating type creams that might help?
