Thanks. I have found this site to be great thus far (I know I have only been here since last night)....but I have actually never talked with anyone about this other than my husband. I have a lot of fears which I am sure are probably normal. I also have a very strong will, and once I set my mind to something, I can honestly admit that I follow through. I am not worried about myself as much as I am my spouse. He says that he wants to stop and I do believe him, but there are many other factors that are concerning me about him and his being able to stop......Thank you again.
Several schools of thought. One would be suboxone (buprenorphine) I doubt that your doc can prescribe that - many cant, takes an extra license. He may offer methadone - dont even think about going there. You could stock up (on hydros) and develop a taper paln - many here will help you with that - it takes mega discipline and usually someone else to issue pills on schedule. Other venues are available to explore the pain management. It is actually a crime that you have been maintained on narcs for so many years without a PM consultantation. Lots of good people are here and they are on your side - dont hesitate to ask, vent, and just let your thoughts and feelings known. How long has it been since you could speak about this comfortably, without judgment, and to people that understand? I am on your side.
Hello. My spouse and I are both pescribed 6 pills per day and the prescription is for Lortab 10/500. Yes we both take 6 per day. We have been taking them for about 6-7 years. It was Vicodin 5/500 at first, and then Vicodin 7.5/750, and now we are on the highest dose of 10/500. I think we have been on this dosage for about a year or so now. We take them for back issues and my husband also has a metal rod in his leg which causes him problems.
Is everybody taking as directed? Another sad fact about this is that a body will become accustomed to a substance (addictive especially) that is introduced to the bloodstream steadily over a period of years. Even a prescribesd amount with enough history. Would need to know why and how many for how long to give you better idea. There are many ways to stop. The primary one being a desire to stop on the part of the user.
Thanks. I have a question about Lortab addiction and how to stop. I only take the prescribed amount but the problem is that my husband is also prescribed them and we have taken them for a few years now. I hate it and want to not depend on them and he would like to stop to. We can not talk to our family or friends about this, so what should we do?
So what's the question?
