oh my aching back

Well wouldn't you know it.   I am having one of my back flare ups right here days before surgery.   I have taken tylenol but am not allowed to take naproxen or ibu or anything with aspirin in it for two weeks prior to surgery.

So i have pretty much been on my back most of the day.   I have walked around a bit just to loosen up the muscles.
I so hope it is better by tomorrow when I have to go to work.  I am going to take a muscle relaxer to see if that helps.

How is everyone else doing?   Its pretty quiet around here so thats a good sign perhaps that everyone is busy with their families.

Well I am going back to my heating pad now but wanted to let you all know i'm thinking of you.  Tim, Shelby, I hope you two are keeping cool, its pretty warm just about everywhere today.  OH, except in front of Shel's AC!! lol!
hugs to you all

I'll bring the popcorn!  Ah, a good movie sounds sooooo good right now.  The youngest is already in bed and the 3 year old is just about there.  Once she's asleep I think I'll curl up and watch a movie.  I'm in the bedroom since hubby is being a butt and we are fighting, so I'll just keep myself locked in here and watch a movie I want to see and not have to worry about what HE wants to watch.  Can you tell I'm still a bit irritated with Mr. "I never do anything wrong but will finally apologize just to make you happy, only I'll do it in the most condesending and sarcastic way possible"?  lol.... sorry.

I am going to keep on that doctor until I figure out what's wrong.  And if they give me any more attitude or blow me off this 6 ft amazon woman can get VERY mean VERY fast!!!

Whew... I think I'm a bit worked up tonight.  I think it's time to relax with that good movie.. lol

You sound so good hun!  Thats because you are doing so good!   You have come so far.  A movie day sounds very good, you deserve a day of cool comfort!

I'll be fine, I think im just getting nervous abotu the whole surgery thing.  Not really the procedure but just having to depend on people for things afterwards.  I have the hardest time asking for help.   I have plenty of people who have offered aand who will be around to help out so it will be good for me to practice being a bit dependent on others and let them have a chance to "give" to me.

Take care and I will email you in a bit, k?

Oh honey I am sorry to hear you are still hurting.  I have had back pain for a long time - just comes with the terrority of my job.  I tell you though when I was an addict - I had forgotten about it for the most part.  When I was first coming off the hydro's though - I could really feel it.  Now for the most part advil or tylenol helps.  Some days after driving home form work (1 1/2 hours each way) I use an ice pack on my neck and left shoulder.  I also have a heating pad and heated seats in my car but sometimes the warmth makes me feel worse.  Baths always help though for some reason.  I swear whoever invented the tub I could kiss!! lol

I am praying that you still get your surgery - at least you will be out of pain for a bit and then after (not sure how quickly) you can start taking the advil.  I know the muscle relaxers are not nearly as hard to get off of...took me maybe a day or two.  I took Soma and they do not have nearly the side affects of hydro's.  I was taking so many of those I would occasionally get that soma coma feeling - completely looped.  So just becareful honey.

love,

P.S. A/C is working great and I have not left the house - kind of had a movie day.  Been so nice!  Thank you God!! :)

Come on over sweetie, we'll throw on a movie and get our backs in check.  lol!!

I hope I didn't set a bad example talking about the muscle relaxer.   I have never had a problem with them and can take them or leave them.   If you think the pill you have will make your cravings for vicodin flare up, please don't take it!!   I hope you feel better soon and that your doc gets off his butt and gives you the tests you need.

Boy do I feel your pain - literally!  My back has been a mess, the pain traveling from my back to my hip and butt, down my leg all the way to my foot.  Ouch!  I actually have a REASON to take narcotics and I'm not - who woulda thought?  lol

I hope it is better soon and that the muscle relaxer helps.  That just reminded me that I have two skelaxin sitting on the shelf.  I've felt weird about taking them this week since I've quit so I haven't.  It seems like I'm worried about EVERY drug now!  But I've never really abused muscle relaxers (unless I took Soma with a huge dose of vicodin to "add to it") so I guess taking one skelaxin just to help with the pain would be different if I had to do that.

Move over and make room on that heating pad for me too... lol

ps - it is hotter than h*ll here in California!!
