powerful story to the importance of staying positive

Worried himself to death

Nick Sitzman was a strong, healthy, and ambitious young railroad yardman. One midsummer day, the train crews were informed that the could quit an hour early. While performing one last check, Nick was accidently locked in a refrigerator boxcar. He banged and shouted but no one heard him. Wanting to let his wife and children know exactly waht had happen to him, he found a knife and wrote on the floor "it's so cold, my body is getting numb. These may be my last words..." The next morning, the crew found him dead. An autopsy revealed that every physical sign of his body indicated he had frozen to death. And yet the refrigeration unit of the car was inoperative and the temp indicated 55 degrees. Nick had killed himself by the power of his own thoughts.

I thought this was a powerful story. It is amazing the power of our mind. This story is from a book called The Success Principles (I did not write the whole story, just in my words and it is a true story). For those going through withdraws, try to stay positive. Studies are showing that it really can effect your body mentally and physically. Sorry if this was a long post, i just thought the story was powerful. Try to stay positive, you can get through it! Best of luck to all that are struggling.
God Bless

I may have to look that one up and read the book......I believe in the power of the mind  - but you can also die of hypothermia when the temp is in the 50's and 60's...... this is another one that I have experience with ...... ambient air temp was high 60's .... my body core temp was 95 when they rolled me into an ER - unconscious and doing just what happens with hypothermia .... every muscle south of my heart was contracted to keep oxygenated blood available for the brain and heart......I regained consciousness for a second in the ER and thought that I was having a siezure.....but it was my body shaking violently to try and warm itself up.  Keep a happy thought at the very least......
