Look at you go Sarah! Did you grow up listening to the music radiating out my window or what? :). Lest us not forget Jimi Hendrix, The Who. Pink Floyd,Jefferson "Airplane", Neil Young w/Crazy Horse, Johnny Guitar Watson, Phil Collins, TenYears After....And IBKleen?,,God, Quicksilver Messenger Service. I haven't thought about them in ages!

Think I'll have to go down to my barn and see what "8 tracks" I have left in my box! There's one band I'm trying to think of, can visually remember listening to them in my bedroom with the black light on looking at all my posters on the walls..Don't you just hate that when its on the tip of your tongue, can hear one of the songs in my head, and just can't connect. I remember part of the lyrics mentioning "Our Pres Nixon" verbadum, but can't connect. I'm thinking it was a solo album that one of The Dead might of made.

And mention of Woodstock? I was looking on the web here about 3 months ago and tripped across all the interviews and stuff they did in celebration of the 40th anniversary last year.. With alot of digitally reworked video..I got lost in that for about 4 days showing my kids what a "real" concert was :):) Darn, I was just shy of being old enough to go..My older brother did get there though. At the time we lived about 60 miles away from Max Yasger's farm..Got a great video of him speaking to the crowd ,then present day interviews with Michael Lang , Artie Cornfeld, and Wavy Gravy, the hog farm commune guy that brought all his group in to cook, cook, and cook again along with some other things.. .

Yes, 8 tracks,,still have them, but no player to play them on anymore :):)..This thread certainly is a blast from the past! Got all kinds of memories swirling here....

You are not going to believe this and I will have to take a lie detector test. Dr. Hook, lead singer Dennis I might add, was a guy who I hung with at a park in Jersey City. I suppose you could look it up. I am not tooting my own horn..it is just cool.

Janis, saw her at least 3 times, alone, with Jimi Hendrix and of course at Woodstock.

How about the Bnad..The Weight? Saw them in CA. Saw Hendrix twice, Morrison once, the Dead more times then I can count, Airplane more times then I can count. Eric Clapton...Carlos Santana, Freddie Mercery.

I was at the Fillmore West in SF when Janis performed her final shows with Big Brother..unfortuntely I had to listen from outside as the line went all around the building and she played 2-3 shows.  Was great to hear though.  Saw her several times prior to that.

I do enjoy the posts about music, music has been such an overwhelming inspiration for my fiance and I - when we feel bad, we just crank up some music and it leads us through....every time.

I was at the last Seattle show. Awesome.  Phish ive been to 43 shows and loved every second of it.  I understand why some dont enjoy it. I think its the memories of the shows and people I saw.

Maybe it's my age...never been able to get into Phish.  Only saw them once about 15 years ago..opened for Santana...


Now the Dead...what I'd give for just one more show.
