thank you all for the advice and good wishes! means the world to me! Yea to justneedtotalk, it is like i've been sitting around waiting for the time to pass. My husband just lost his job so it's kind of like a blessing is disguise. He has been taking care of our two daughters (3and 4 1/2) and me by himself. I'm sure its the worst mentally and physically but ive just been on the couch literally 23 hours/day! Only been taking lyrica for my fibromyalgia and its hard all i have to do is ask for my lortab refill but its easier than i thought- because i'm never doing this again. And how people say its harder staying clean because u forget how bad it really was withdrawaling hats going to be my everest lol. Its happened so many times before. But I need to take vitamins any suggestions on which kind? I don't know why maybe from withdrawaling every few days by taking them on and off well every other days up to 2 days for the past couple weeks but this time thank god, is milder than others. I'm scared I was jjust on a high dose so itll take longer to start the bad part and itll get worse, but thankfully I've made it a week and am still determined this is the only time i will have to feel this way again! And to who said I needed to get a routine blood count, thats very true, i have aplasticanemea, where my bonemarrow cannot produce enough blood for my body- and am sure thats contributing to my weak dizzy feeling. So for now motrin 800, lyrica, & promethazine for nausea and tylenol pm for the restless tossing n turning nights. Thank you so much for the advice!! Does the shakes taste bad? the only i would try is chocolate. I am a HUGE picky eater- i only eat a handful of meals, no fruit- and only mashed potatoes and corn for veggies :( any suggestions? thank you! thank you!! everyone!!! god bless and congratulations on your sobriety!

Most have stated what you need to do but for me, exercise is and can be one of your best friends.  For me personally coming off of methadone wasn't the first few weeks of pain.  It was the monotony of the sleepless nights and "no-energy" days, it was the hardest thing for me to get past.  Gnarly gave me some suggestions and one I started about a month into my detox but I wish I had started it earlier.....EXERCISE!!!!

This is probably the last thing in your mind but I did a lot of research.....I MEAN A LOT!!! I was obsessed with finding ways to shorten my withdrawal.  Once I started the protien shakes and started riding my exercise bike I felt better almost immediately.  I could only get onto the thing for about 12-15 minutes at first but I finally worked my way up to 50 minutes a day on one of the hardest settings.  I am coming up on 90 days and I can truly say I have never felt better.  Once you get it through your brain that just sitting around waiting for your symptoms to go away will not happen, you can actually start things that will truly help them go away......Time is always a factor with methadone recovery but what you do with that time is the difference.  Keep using your multi-vitamins and protien shakes and try to get some exercise......Start slow and work your way up.....I promise it will help.....Just think about this fact.....If you get through this, you will of accomplished one of the most difficult feats a human can endure without getting professional help!  For me it has kept me going.....We/I WILL NOT FAIL!!!  God Bless!

One of the most important things that I can recall from my methadone detox is understanding that it is a process and will take some time.  I did a fairly rapid detox from 20mg in a matter of weeks, but my patience got the best of me and a few weeks later I relapsed with pills, but today I am clean and doing well.  The opiate WD is much less than methadone and in the end it was the true eye opener I need to see that it was really time to see this addiction for what it was.

Exercise, music, amino/vitamins, protein shakesand constant hot baths were all good friends to me during those days.....6 days is a great start.

HI.....coming off 100mg is going to be a ruff ride but you all ready know that 6 days into it
typically coming off a high dose last about 2 weeks for the physical part to go away
you say you have been at 100mg for 2 yrs....its going to take a wile to feel better
I was on 150mg for 6 1/2yrs the first month your just sick when the energy crash hits
it can be debilitating you will need to force your self to exercise progress is slow
the next month I sorta stayed in limbo Iwas better then the first month but far from it being over it was ariund the 90 day mark that things started to turn around ...methadone is a monster to kick....but it is doable it just takes determination and perseverance try not to get discouraged by the time line you do get better its just slowly....I have helped others do this and if your on it for years and at a substantial dose this is pritty typical of how recovery goes...as for now force fluids and lots of hot baths will eaze your symptoms
when your able to get out gey up to walmart and pick up a 2lb can of whey protein shake mix its loaded with vitamins amino acids as well as the protein all of witch the brain needs to heal the chocolate flavor is good you just mix it with milk drink 2 a day this will help speed up your recovery....I only wish I found out about this sooner mean wile keep posting for support we all want to see you get well your not the first member we had jump off at 100mg so just know its doable good luck and God bless......Gnarly

How much Lortab were you taking??

If you're at day 6, you're doing great!  It takes awhile (weeks) to feel good again. It seems the first month is just tough with insomnia, out of control emotions, general sick feeling, fatigue, and no energy. It improves but it's gradual.

I would get an appt. with a doctor for a check up with routine lab work.

For now, OTC pain relievers.  Drink,drink,drink. Take some multi vits. Call the Dr.

Good luck~
