18 Days off Suboxone! :-)

Hey there everyone,

Just wanted to thank all of those that helped me through this ride that I have been on!  Ive been crazy busy with work, and am still overseas, so I apologise if I havent responded to any of your notes or messages lately!

Thanks to Sal, Gnarly, Domnio, Laurel, and everyone else!

19 days ago I took my last dose of suboxone, 3mgs... and havent looked back since!  At 10 days I was back to work, flying trips, and have been here overseas ever since...  I am scheduled to come back home to the states in another week, and I cant wait.

Im still having some minor issues, namely sleep (Or lack there of), periodic legs cramps, and stomach issues.  It is certainly dragging out, and uber obnoxious, but theres no turnin back now! :-)

I figure I have about another 10 days of this nonsense before this part starts to slowly fade, and believe me I will embrace it with open arms! lol

No cravings, very minimal depression, and at minimal I mean for 5 mins every few days...lol

The lack of sleep has gotten me quite irritated, and nothing really seems to make it come on easier.  I have tried hot baths, xanax, ambien, melatonin, valerian, and benadryl... all they do is get me to sleep and wake me up 30 minutes later feeling like a drugged zombie that cant sleep!  I figure my body will get the sleep it needs when I want it, and just remember how much better I feel now than in the first week!

Its been a real ride, and I can certainly see how people have difficulties toughing this one out.  But as laurel says "This too shall pass"  :-)

Thanks again everyone, you have all played a monumental part in this process!

Henry

Henry - congrats on the 19 days, you are awesome.  Dropping off at 3mg is harder than heck, so kudos to you.

You know, the sleep part was also the worst for me.  It took me a good month to get that remotely back on track.  I tried the Ambien and Benedryl too and nothing worked that good.  My doc actually prescribed me some Seroquel, which is for Bi-Polar, but it can really make you sleepy.  It worked, but I found that it made me crabby in the mornings sometimes, so I did not take that for long either - it was a low dose too.

Hang in there, you are on the home stretch.

Take Care,

S
