18 weeks pregnant and stopping opiates cold turkey

I am 18 weeks pregnant with my second child and wanting desperately to get off pain killers. I am trying to go cold turkey. I have done it before but not while pregnant. I wasn't taking too many pills. About 30 to 40mg of percocet a day. Any advice on what I am in store for?  Am I putting my baby at risk?

I take it your not getting them from your doctor?? If not, you need to come clean to him/her, they'll suggest a taper plan. Do not go cold turkey! Every ounce of wds you feel, so will your baby. And yes, it could harm your child. Please don't be afraid to tell your dr, they've heard it all before. They will help you. For the sake of your baby, tell your dr ASAP!

It's well documented that going cold turkey in pregnancy may be dangerous for the fetus. So it's up to you but the right thing would be to share this with your OB and get a slow taper plan.

You need to talk with OBGYN asap regarding the pills and DONT CT its not good for the baby.  the taper is the best thing and you can be off the pills in a month best wishes

I'm praying you talk it over with your doctor. I couldn't even begin to know what advice to give. I'm praying for you and the little one.
