2nd visit to Sub Dr.

Hi all.  had my 2nd appointment tonight with my addiction psychiatrist.  I was on Subutex since last Monday.  He switched me over to Suboxone tonight. Now I don't have to go back for 2 weeks.  My cousin is going to him as well (she recommended him to me).  He decided to give us an appointmet at the same time as he knows we are related, travel 45 min to get to him and he knows we are supporting each other thru this.  We were both on vics but she was doing up to 30 a day and my most was 8 - 10 per day. She is a few weeks ahead of me with the treatment. I have felt wonderful the past week. My cousin told me me has been addicted to something or another for the past 30 years and she has never felt this good.  We have not had one desire for a pain pill. There was a man and wife in the office before me and I could hear some of what was being said while I was in the waiting room.  He was putting them on several pills and I heard him lecturing them about not drinking while on the pills. Wow, I was next and when I went into his office it reaked of booze.  I wish them well and hope he can help them as well.  I read posts as much as I can and I want to thank all of you out there for advertently or inadvertently helping me thru this.  Good luck to all !  So many of you are doing so great and should be soooooooooooo very proud of yourselves, not only for your own strength but for the help and support your are giving.

Thank you guys for responding. I was taking hydro 7.5 or 5's.... 2 to 10  a day depending on availability.  My doc had me detox only for 13 hours then I took my first Subutex.  From what I understand, the Suboxone has another ingredient in it which many on here can't explain better than me.  The ingredient prevents you from feeling anything if you were to take  a pain pill while on them.Hopefully someone here more knowledgeable will jump in and explain this better.  Road 2 recovery...I am still worried about the plan for me.  I have read posts here that the longer you are on Sub the harder the w/d. I am thinking a few months tops.  I heard that fladict has a journal all about sub. How do I find that journal to read? I haven't learned yet how to get around here too well.

Hello,
This is great to here. I have a post on here called suboxone disaster. If u get a chance please read it. Basically, the first time I ever took suboxone was about month ago or longer and I went into  horrible withdrawls. I mean it was scary sick! I said I would never ever look at another suboxone tablet after that, but now I here all these great stories how great it is and I've been weaning down myself to try this again. I went  into what was called precipatated withdrawl. Apparently I hadn't withdrawled enough. How long did you withdrawl before going into the subutex ? What is the difference between subutex and suboxone? all I've tried was suboxone 8mg tablets.
