3 weeks clean from trams and I'm getting more depressed every day

I've made it to 3 weeks clean from tramadol but the past week I feel like I hate
My life more and more every day.  I'm so stressed out.  My job is overwhelming and I'm job searching but that has been very frustrating as well.  The holidays make me depressed and stressed out also.

I am taking Effexor and have been for a while so I'm already covered on the antidepressant.  I went my psych and she wants to put seroquil on top of my effexor  but I'm hesitant to add another drug and decilined to Do that.
Plus I've heard bad things  About the side effects of seroquil.

The first two weeks of being clean I felt much more positive than now even through the withdrawals.  I'm honestly hating life so much right now without the pills.  I'm hoping this passes because life with them was much more pleasant.

It will pass.  Not only is it normal to experience those kinds of emotional ups and downs post detox for a while, but that's especially true with tramadol, being that it has the anti-depressant component to it.

It's hard to be patient, but truly, it's best to just give these things time.  I wouldn't throw another med into the mix, not until you've given yourself enough time to "recover" from the emotional let down that you're experiencing that is perfectly normal, and common even.

Wishing you the best!

hydros were my doc until a few years ago when i got some trams when i couldn't get hydros and i was hooked.  they were so much easier to come by and i thought they were less harmful.  yeah right.

you're right though, fake it till you make it!  i was having a terrible day when i posted this.  i had a couple of bad days this week. work stress has been taking a toll on me and i don't have anything to numb it with any longer.

I'm feeling better today but the emotional roller coaster is making me nauseated!  Just hanging in there.  I know it will get better.

I'm with ya.  Tramadol was not my doc (hydro was) but I feel very similar.  The 1st ten days the physical stuff sucked but the mental seemed ok.  Since then I'm an emotionless mess.  Fake it til you make it I guess but this $ucks out load!  My job is there...I used to like it...LOL

I'm not on the anti-depressants though.  Never had an issue with that and I know is part of the detox process.  This is for the birds....   Agh!

If it continues perhaps your doctor can up your Effexor dosage.  How much are you taking now?

thank you.  i know it will get better. this time of year can be hard anyway and add on the ups & downs of coming off this stuff.

i totally agree about not adding another drug to the mix now.
