31st day off methadone

I feel like I want to cave.  I thought after 21 days or so I would start to feel better.  I was only on 5 mg at the end.  In all fairness, since about 21 days I have had moments of feeling sort of OK, but the discomfort and lack of good sleep and not wanting to take immodium because it either doesn't work or I feel like I have rocks in my stomach.  I still can't eat much, and smells of the kitchen send me straight to the toilet, to throw up what I don't have in my stomach.  Any thoughts, any at all.  I don't mean to sound discouraging to anyone, hey I'm still off methadone.  But I really want something and i'm not so much scared of it.  I wish I was.  Thanks.

3 months ago I was shooting 15-20 bags of heroin, I went to 60 mg methadone and was down to 5mg by aug. 2.  Actually I split into 2.5 the last 2 days.  Ouch.  i was using drugs for 2 years previous.  Before that I had 3 years ten months clean.

Thanks so much for the encouragement....I think I worded it wrong, it's been 31 days now.  I thought when I was at 21 days I was doing better than now.  Is it going to be like that, up and down?  I know i'm not imagining that Ive gone from ok to not to ok to not in the last 10 days.  I ll try the melatonin, I think when I took it a few weeks ago I didn't take as much.  I used to take ambien, but I took too much, not the CR.  I want benzos, but at this point I don't want something else to make me feel like sh** in the future.  I mean I really do want something, but I don't.  Enough.  I never want to do this again.

it does get better.  give it about a week more, and you will start to feel human again.  you have gotten off the hardest drug to kick, hun, and you can be reaqlly proud of yourself.  try some melatonin to help with the sleep.  the insomnia was the worst for me too, but i have been off for nearly 3 months now, and feeling almost normal.  just a little tired.  if you can keep them down, some multi vitamins with minerals will help.  also stress tabs.  lots of water or gatoraid, bananas, soft foods like youhurt and icecream.  you need to build your strength.  walking is great for making you tired enough to sleep.  about the melatonin, it is a natural hormone that your body makes to help you sleep.  when we are on drugs, our body stops making it and as we age it also stops making it.  start with 3 mgs. then take 3 more every 1/2 hour till you get sleepy.  it's ok to do this for a few days.  if that doesn't help, talk to your dr. and get some ambien CR.  it helped me, and if you only take it for 2 or 3 weeks, you won't have problems with addiction.  good luck, dear, you can do it.

Hey there- I was wondering what happened to you, so glad you are here.I am on day 39 and I can tell you it is way better....At 21 days it was still rough and tough for me too. But you have to believe it gets better cuz it does and I never thought it was going to either. Have you tried amitriptolin (sp) for sleep, they use it to treat restlees legs as well as alot of other stuff. You can resist the urge to use. oh i cant tell you how good it feels to have made it this far.

Try to hang onto those moments when you feel OK They will help you get threw .Slowly you will find you have more of the ok moments then the bad ones and it will all come together.
