379 Days - Thank you

Hey y'all. I am not really a good typist so I don't post a lot because by the time I can type what I'm thinking it's gone from my mind(prob. too much drugs in past)When I began to detox from over 10 years of opiates and methadone I read this forum constantly for signs of hope that this could be done and that I too could do it. Well 379 days later I'm here as living proof it can be done. It has been over a year of living just one day at at time and I'm getting through this.Sounds cliche but it really does get so much better. SO Keep pushing through and KNOW this can be done and that you CAN do this! Thanx to all who post because it it so easy to relate to almost every story and it does help others. To the "special" regular posters who have helped me so much a big THANK YOU. PEACE TEENA

Hi, your post is so inspiring, so good to hear that this really can be done!  I've to been on opiates for about 10yrs, first lortab, percocet, oxy, then the last 7yrs on methadone.  I'm tapering now and on 2.5mg a day, and reading your post made me feel so much better!  I'm at the point now where I'm wondering if I can really do this. :(  Reading stories like yours will keep me going!

Congratulations!  And glad to see you're still here giving support to others.  This a great forum that helps so many people.  And you're right; everyone's posts and/or comments make a difference.  There are some, though, that make a huge contribution ... especially people that have gone through this and have long-term sobriety and bring so much accurate knowledge of all the aspects of addiction.  (And I agree that Vicki's "special" (in a good way :)  She always gives great advice and is so knowledgeable about the medical aspect of things.)
