39 weeks preg still on 150 mg oxy a day

Ok... I'm an addict. A terrible ,horrible mother. I can't stop. BUT i was taking 200-300 mg a day for most of my preg, and now I've tapered down to between 125-180 a day. I try to stop at 90 mg but it never works!! My weakness is the evening when everyone is over and partying and I can't get away!! HELP ME I WANT TO STOP SO BAD! iT IS THE MOST HORRIBLE FEELIING AND I CANNOT IMAGINE WHAT AN INFANT WOULD GO THROUGH HAVING TO HAVE WITHDRAWLS SUCH AS THE ONES i HAVE IF I GO MORE THAN 4HRS WITHOUT IT.
i AM NOW WAKING UP AT AROUND 7 OR 8 AND TAKING A FIFTEEN OF OXY. AROUND 9 30  or so I start to feel like I need more but I force myself to wait till 11 or 11 30 till noon and then I usually take like 22 mgs. Then around 4 I take 22 again. Then at like 7p.m 22 again small doses but they add up to 100 so fast! Then after 9 p.m I end up taking at lest 40 before bed. Sometimes I just keep snorting 15's till I fall asleep at 3 a.m HELP ME
I need someone to tell me that they were using this much and had a healthy child. ONLY because I am having terrible panick attacks and I can;t breathe when I thin about what I have done to my baby. That is bad for him for me to have these attacks and I just need to know should I even keep trying or is it to late? I will keep trying to cut back anyway and hopefully he will come late and i can get myself down to at least 60 mg a day or less.... Please wish me luck. I have been addicted to opiates for 15 years. My 18 month old is beautiful and smart and so far has no mental issues or anything to tell me the opiates hurt her. When she was born I was only on about 30 mg a day. That was about what I took the whole preg...

Wow and now reading your entire comments I just pray that baby is in safe hands. I've never seen someone ask or help then turn it away like this. I'm sure being three years later you have seen what they said was true. Good luck in life.

If you do not tell your dr they will test for drugs and you will get her taken from you. Hard truth but its how it goes. Ask for help while you still can. Please.

You need to tell your doctor ASAP! Before its too late. They will help your baby and chances of cps taking her is less if the dr knows and sees you want help. I was pregnant and relapsed while about 25 weeks. I used for a bit over a week and just quit because I was so scared of getting her taken from me. Luckily she came out healthy as ever with no wds. She's now almost two and after getting sober and having her I slipped again. Now here I am about to go into detox Friday to get off this ****. I want her to have a sober healthy happy mommy. Luckily she won't remember any of this and I get to take her with me into the rehab I'm going to after detox. But because of my stupidity my baby girl gets to spend her second birthday n rehab. It makes me sick knowing what I've done. Makes me even more sick remembering that I don't have the will power to protect my child while she was inside me. I would have rather used and taken that chance. We're addicts. But I've put her thru enough and I do not want her to remember any of this so I'm stopping now. My goal was to be sober by the time she was 2. And I will accomplish that. Please tell your dr. They see this all the time. Get help before its too late. And stick close to these boards. They're amazing.

I believe the most important worry should be your child or children. Not if you would lose your hubby cuz he's get in trouble too, or even yourself and your loss. You should ask yourself what your CHILD could gain, not what you could lose. If you weren't pregger, I do believe Kratom would be an amazing substitute while seeking professional help with underlying issues as to how you can become a RECOVERED user.

You need to put the baby first now. Tell the doctors so they can help your baby through the withdrawals. Don't let that poor little baby suffer what you've been too afraid to suffer, do the right thing and make sure that the medicine he or she needs will be available right away rather then letting the baby suffer until they figure it out. It will look a lot worse if they have to find out rather then you telling them.

Your baby and you are in my prayers. But you know you owe it to that tiny baby to do the right thing. He or she never had a choice but you do so make the right one ok? Hang in there. I am on day 6 of ct from 100 mgs a day, it's hard but you can do it. You need help though and keep posting, the people here are amazing support.

First things first, get that baby help and you help. Your stronger then you think and you could be a very good mom. A bad mom wouldn't care so if you were so bad you wouldn't seek help. You do care and you can find the road back to the real you. It's hard as he'll but it can be done. I have a one year old and two year old. I started taking oxys after my Youngest was  born for a back problem and ended up hooked on them. I'm slowly getting better and so can you.

Dear Worried!  Most likely your baby will be fine and be healthy in the long run but the baby will most likely suffer horrible withdrawal effects coming off the opiates in your system.  You are way too far along in your pregnacy to try and stop taking opiates, your baby feels what you feel that is a fact.  Do your best to stabilize your dose where you feel comfortable not high around the clock.  The steady the dose the more stable your baby.  Wether you tell your doctors or not they will soon find out and treat the baby for withdrawals.  It would be better for you to disclose this before the baby is born so the baby does not suffer as much.  Another benefit is the doctors won't feel like you are hiding something from them and be more understanding to your situation.  It the meds are precrbied then you have nothing to worry about let the docs know.  If you are abusing your meds and finishing them off early and turning to the street to by them until next refill they will have know way of knowing that unless you tell them.  Like I said if you are prescribed the meds legally then you have nothing to worry about.  I don't condone lying to the doctors but I am trying to let you know what to expect and do in this situation.  If all works out for you let this be a lesson to you and get the help you need to stop this cycle of abusing your meds especially while pregnant, it is not fair to the baby who does not have voice.  If i were you I would be honest and tell the truth and come clean, only good will come from it, lies will catch up to you one way or another.  Telling the truth may be painfull but will soon put you on the path to recovery with the proper support in place.  You need a break from being a mother and need to work on yourself then you can become a good mother since you said it yourself that your mothering is not at its best right now.  Surrender and do the right thing and come clean for yourself and your children.

Good Luck!!!

wow I cant believe some of the stuff i just read DO NOT TAKE KRATOM .. PLZ dont take this is me being harsh but you need to tell your doctor asap the baby deserves to have the proper care its no longer just about you ..Chances are with the amount you were on and still are on the baby is mostly likely going to WD ..You dont want your child to go threw that without the proper care .If you are honest with your doctor they will work with you if you don't and your baby goes threw withdrawal and they drug test the baby they will contact dss ..We hand many moms to be that were afraid to tell there doctor but all of them have said there doctors were really supportive ..PLZ dont do this alone ...let us know how you are doing we will be here to support you ..

I have a script and have had these scripts for the entire length of the pregnancy. The dctors know what I am on. They just don't know I go through it so fast and replace it w/ that of a different source.
I know it will be ok. You are trying to help I kow but your post does nothing for me honestly except scare the **** out of me and make me want to keep even more quiet and detox more rapidly. Which I will do. If my first had an apgar of 9 at 30-50 or 60 mg then I know this one will be ok. I just have to get down.
It's an experience you can't really give advice about unless you have had a child born to it and saw that it can be ok. I know that to someone like you what I am taking sounds like a lot, but there are women shooting 100 mg of oxycontin and having babies that don't withdrawl...
I just wanted to hear from someone on this forum that they went through it and everything was ok!! Nothing else!

This so much more about the well-being of a baby than it is about keeping addictions private. I also find it incredibly irresponsible of you to recommend that a pregnant woman ingest anything that hasn't specifically been proven to be safe during pregnancy. Not even aspirin or cod liver oil are safe for pregnant women.

"Keeping your addiction private"   is not even remotely a  rational  or sane comment  to make  to a woman that is 39 weeks pregnant.     I really wish you would stop, yet this is your  second post on this thread.  I find your postings extremely offensive and dangerous.

Here's the major concern about the baby and your comments about what you are saying:  when the baby is born, it will experience rigidity and WD symptoms.  The docs will then check to see if you have been using.  I used to work for CPS and am familiar with what you talk about.  I only mention this because a lot of people don't realize this.  A lot of times they will do a tox screen on the baby to determine any effects.  It may not have been this bad before because you werent taking as high of a dose as you are now.

That high of a dose has been getting to your unborn child.  The docs and nurses watch these babies and recognize these types of symptoms.  These babies have a very specific cry when they go thru WD symptoms and they also experience rigidity.

So you may experience a visit from CPS and they will likely ask you to place with someone like a family member.  Ask if you may stay in a supervised home (like at your parents)  if this is the case.  But be prepared and be thinking of a placement.  I am not saying this to be mean.  It's just so you have some say-so and are prepared.  I have a feeling it will be different than it was before.  I know this insanity as I am going through this, too.  My heart aches for your situation entirely.

Just in case: So keep a list of people who would be willing to take the children that have never been arrested, and do not have CPS history (or a meth lab in their home).

This is a rock and a hard place.

What I'm about to say isn't meant to sound harsh or mean, but I've spent many years as a doula and know a lot about pregnancy and childbirth.

39 weeks is a little late to be worrying about getting off of the oxy, as you could have your baby any time. Even if you do get down to 60mg/day, it won't make much difference to the baby. The most important thing is to know that your baby will absolutely be born addicted and absolutely will need to detox, which will not be at all pleasant for either one of you. First, You will need to be honest with both your doctors and the baby's doctors. During labor, if you plan to use any medications, you need to let the anesthesiologist know so those doses can be properly calculated. You also need to let the pediatricians know, so they can be prepared for the baby's birth and detox. Opiates depress our ability to breathe, so the baby's doctors need to know to be prepared for this. Also, in my state, medical providers are required to report to social services babies who are born addicted. The baby's well-being is the most important thing, so please do not let the possible social services intervention prevent you from being honest. I would also recommend against breast feeding, as the opiates do make their way into breast milk.

You need to face this problem with all the responsibility associated with being a mother. It's past being about you and all about your baby. Successfully getting through the birth will be the first step. Hopefully your desire to get off of the oxys will hold after the birth and you can find the help you need. This forum is a wonderful resource for that.

All I know about Kratom is what I just googled and there isn't much, but I'd absolutely stay away from it. It looks like it's another stimulant, with opiate properties. No wonder it helps with withdrawal. Nothing is going to be a magic cure to your problem and it's just not a good idea to add another substance to your system and the baby's system.

PLEASE ask your doctor what is the  best action  for you and your unborn child at this late stage of your pregnancy,  and be candid with him/her regarding your use...  Please DO NOT blindly accept the opinion of someone telling you to order an unknown  substance that is a miracle cure for opiate addiction, whom  you encounter on the internet.    There is no miracle answer to getting sober and kicking opiates , or a quick solution, without a great deal of desire, effort and dedication on your part.  Not too sure how docs make money off rehab centers.....unlike the above poster, I strongly recommend you get honest,  real quick before your child is born.   The very least you owe this baby, is to make his or her w/d as easy as possible and as medically safe as possible.

Don't you have a doctor? I would talk to your doctor about it, they will know what to do and how to help baby.  If you don't tell them it will be harder on baby while they try to figure out what to do to help after birth.  And they may be able to help wean you off a llittle better than how you are doing it.  I have been clean for 252 days so it is doable it's just not easy,  please don't take this the wrong way because it's really not meant to be rude (just coming from someone who would love to have another baby but can't)  maybe you should consider a good form of birth control after delivery until you are in a place in your life that you are happy with and is healthy for all involved.  I'm sure you have already thought of that but with two babies while using maybe it's not the best thing to keep having them right now.  Hope all works out well for you and especially baby.
