4 oxy/roxy a day and trying to quit

i am on 4 oxy 30 mg a day and sometimes take suboxone when i cannot afford  pain killers. but are very expensive. i am trying to quit and want to do it cold turkey. is it possible or am i better off tapering with suboxone? can i taper off suboxone in 1 week? i want to quit NOW. i am ruining my life and my familys. i am not sniffing just swallowing them. sometimes i dont feel anything but crave it due to being scared of WD. this is my GREATEST FEAR. WITHDRAWLS. please is it possible for me to quit cold turkey or should i ween off with suboxones? if i take half suboxone i feel hot/cold sweats. but if i take a whole 1 i feel ok. should i start low and deal with minor wd? or start high and ween off? sorry if this sounds confusing but im trying. my whole life never did any drugs. till 1 day i took a oxy.:( please any advice is greatly appreciated. thanks

will taking a 2 mg. klonopin right now be dangerous if i took 2 30mg oxys at 4-5 pm. and its 10 pm. thanks

I'm no doctor but i've always heard not to mix the two really...it can cause respiratory depression...so i'd be careful there...maybe someone with more experience with it will come along and post.  Call a pharmacist if you can't get a doctor on the phone..but i'd ask a professional for sure.

thank you. i will definetely do. i was on subs last week but stopped and jumped back on oxys cause i heard was worse. its an expensive drug and my tolerance is getting higher and higher. $80.00 a day times 7 days a week. man its expensive. i have to quit. is it ok to take a klonopin 2 mg. if i took oxys today?

I'm with Sonrissa...i'd just CT off the oxys..it's doable if you are healthy...the subs is a whole other ballgame...i've read on here from friends how hard it is to detox off them...brutal, plus you should be monitored by a doctor while taking subs...yes, some doctors are just after the money, i can't imagine him giving you subs to get off 1 vicodin a day....that's crazy!  anyway, we are here to support you so just let us know how we can help...you will get lots of support and advice here...stick close to the forum.  It helped save me for sure!

no i am on 2 to 4 30mg oxys a day. i was asking if it was better to quit cold turkey or to ween off suboxones. thanks. and i have klonopin 2 mg. and was asking if it was safe to take while on oxys.

ive been on them for about a year or so. off and on of about 2 a day to 4 a day. splitting the doses. i would take 2 in the am and 2 in the mid day. but i am good with taking 2 a day. its just in my mind to take them.cause im so focused on withdrawls.scared of them. i was down to 1 vicodin a day and a dr. recommended i take suboxones. and i got hooked on 8mg subs. from 1 vicodin a day. guess he wanted the money. so now im back to 2 30mg oxys to 4 30mg oxys. thank you

Hello, and welcome to our forum! I had written this big long post to you and realized you were talking about quitting Suboxone, which I have no experience with. I was on a cocktail of oxi's/trams and Vicodin for 3 years, and quit ct. But regarding the Suboxone someone will be around soon to help you. Hi there and welcome. How long have you been taking the Oxys? I would not taper with subs. You don't need to. Sub is addictive and the withdrawals are worse than Oxy. You can quit the Oxy without sub. Depending on how long you have been taking the Oxy, you will probably have a few days of flu like symptoms, and will then begin to feel better. It's not pleasant, but it is certainly doable. Your mind will make the withdrawals worse than it actually is. There are things you can do to ease the symptoms. also i have teva 834 pill/klonopin i guess. is it safe to take it if i took 2 oxys a little while ago?
