Oh, and one other thing, I gave into cravings about 4 times before I fianlly said, no i want to stop, ( i only lasted til 17 days that time but it was the best i've ever done) and I will say the more times you have to wd and detox the worse it gets. Even if I just relapse a couple days I still get horrible detox!! I am on day 2 and its like my 6th detox in the last 2 1/2 months and it *****, I hope you can stay strong through this, you've made it so far, now just prove to yourself you can overcome the cravings too, and you'll be feeling much better.

Hey, when I made it to day 5 a few weeks ago, it was really hard too. I really feel for you, but one thing I found, is that after thinking so bad about myself for constantly using oxycontin and going back to it time after time, when I beat a craving like you're feeling, I for once, felt soo good about myself. And it was that feeling that motivated me to keep trying. Also, once I had finally beat a craving, I knew I could keep beating it, I just had to stay strong and remember why I wanted to stop. Don't fforget your reasons, and you can beat these cravings too! Day 5 is great!!

I bought me some puzzles and word search puzzles and that keeps my brain occupied, maybe that would help you.

Keep on keeping on............

I still get insane cravings and I've been clean over 3 months. The key is to have a support system around you to talk through these things. The forums are great, but nothing is better than person on person work with another addict. Please, find a support group or go to a meeting. Find some fellow addicts with clean time under their belts. They can truly be lifesavers.

Your body is still detoxing from all of that poison...as tough as it is, just hold on, there is light @ the end of the tunnel...

You are so close - - keep that in your head - - - If you pick them up again you will just have to do this over again.  The cravings are thought to be a sort of bio electrical narcotic short circuit in your brain.  They are intense but they dont last all that long. Distract yourself by doing something (anything...) to keep busy.  Take a walk - ride a bike - watch a comedy - clean out a closet - lots of suggestions about what to do - put Cravings in medhelps search engine and do some reading...... or post here with a question or for support......hang in there....
