Just wanted to tell you how proud I am that you flushed those! That took real grit! Good for you.
Yeah, you might want to try Trazadone or even Benadryl for sleep, especially if you're over the hump. I'd try to stay away from Zoplicone (Ambien) and Benzos if at all possible as it gets to be a habit and you'll have harder trouble sleeping down the line. They mess w/ your Serotonin levels which you're trying to restore. That said, if you're able to take them for a brief period during your acute w/d's and the beginning of PAWS and know when to stop, all power to you.
I just endured a month of sleeplessness when I dropped them and I only took them off and on for 3 mos. I've still got them in the house - just don't want them. I finally realized that I was interfering w/ my body's attempt to restore itself. I'd rather just go through it then take anything. The great part is it only took me 30 years to come to this decision...lol.

First, congrats on your 6 days, and WOW, great job on flushing the Norco's.  THAT takes some serious willpower!  As far as sleep goes, I would try REAL hard to stay away from any kind of rx sleeping pill or benzo.  Trust me, you are only prolonging the whole w/d process and causing lots more anxiety filled, groggy days.  Sleep is one of those things that just takes awhile.  These are some things my Dr suggested for me - magnesium 1000mg. (I still take 750 at night); melatonin (not a personal fan myself, but works for many others), warm/hot bath before bed w/some soothing music, bedroom for sleeping only - no tv or lights, etc.; complete darkness, potassium - eat a couple bananas later in the day, try any of the herbal "sleepytime" teas, and finally, you could try some OTC sleep aid, I think there is one called Ateril (?) that I have heard about.  I'm sure you could ask your pharmacist for suggestions.  Also - try to get a pattern going - going to bed and getting up at the same time helps too.  (I know that one is hard at first when you get in bed & then cant fall asleep).

Sleep was a REAL problem for me for about a month.  Until I talked to my dr. and started with some of the stuff he suggested I was getting very little.  You need to try to relax and not fret about it, that just makes it worse I think.  I just "gave in" to the fact that I was going to be without quality sleep for awhile.  I started exercising - made a HUGE difference (pretty quickly too).  It's been about 4 1/2 months now for me and I am sleeping better than I have in 20 years!  But it was not quick and it happened gradually.  It WILL come.  It's another one of those **** frustrating things about this whole process - but one that yields high rewards if you can just ride it out and get there.  You will (& sooner w/out the benzo or rx stuff) . . . hang in there.

Adderall is a stimulant, so it will keep you awake, and contribute to anxiety.  If you want to sleep, Ambien is great!

Sorry for being so vulger but thats what i did. i do not have any other probleums that i know of but the addrall had no effect on me any. i only took one and two hours later i was still wide awake. Congratulations on your BIG six days! I know it's rough. Just hang in there. It gets better, I promise you. The sleep thing is the toughest part of it for most. I gotta' say I'm surprised - ( to put it mildly) - that the Adderall helped you to sleep. (Do you have ADD/ADHD?) Be careful w/ that, as I'm sure you know, it's addictive and hard to come off of - a whole other can of worms.
Try to have patience w/ the process and your body/mind. It's still early days. You say you were taking it 'for years'. So, your body needs time to re-regulate and rebuild those neural pathways. The more positive your attitude, the easier this will be for you. Try to think of everything you're going through as the toughest part of an unpleasant but necessary initiation into the life you've always wanted for yourself. You CAN do this. You already are. Stick w/ it and try not to stress. Stay in the moment and don't think about the next hour or day. Don't look down that tunnel because you'll trick yourself into seeing a train, instead of the light. You deserve better than what you left behind. Hold Fast and don't look back! Wishing you all the love and strength you need to whip this bad boy.
