6th attempt to get clean

This is my 6th attempt to withdrawel from hydrocodone. I'm on day 4 and the body aches n headaches are terrible. Been taking a lot of tylenol n ibuprofen. Yesterday I was going crazy looking for one more pill, woke up this morning thankful I didn't find any (flushed pills down the toliet 4 days ago), I steal pills from family members. This addiction is messing up my school n family life. I'm 33 yrs old n I can't handle life so I take pills to help me. I have so many health problems and have not told my dr about my addiction (too ashamed-a family dr). I also have ADHD and been trying to avoid tkng those meds bc I hate their side effects and bc of that I'm not tkng my ADHD med I'm failing n school. Seems like I rather take opiates to relieve my body aches n calm me down than take ADHD med. So I am attempting again to get off hydrocodone. Yesterday I totally flipped on my bf bc im going thru bad withdrawels :(

Acetaminophen withdrawal causes nasty headaches, but they will pass in a few days. Some Ibuprophen will help a little.
Unfortunately, hydrocodone withdrawal also causes headaches. They will pass as well though. You just have to dig your heals in and get through this, you can do it.
There are plenty of studies on nutrition and ADHD. Omega3 fatty acids seem to have positive effects, as does maintaining  proper neurotransmitter levels via amino acid supplements,  and eating properly to maintain proper non-essential amino acid production, (those you body makes itself) as well as eating the right foods that help  supply essential amino acid levels (those your body doesn't make, and must get from food).
Perhaps that can be something you can spend time researching on the internet to keep yourself focused on something more positive while you get through these withdrawals?  If anything you can find which supplements fit your wd symptoms and you can make a list of them for when you go for supplies.

Hey donewith, one hour at a time. That's all you can handle right now. It stinks but it's what we must go through to get to the other side. It comes down to choice. Drugs or life. When we are on drugs we are not living an authentic life. It's fake. It gets better but it takes time. Hang in there. Everyone here knows how you feel?

It sounds like you need to do something different this time around.  Do you have any plans for aftercare?  It seems to make the difference for a lot of people.

Don't be ashamed to tell your doctor.  He's heard this before, and he's heard much worse.  He's bound to keep what you tell him confidential.  You're only hurting yourself by not being honest with him.

As far as your ADHD meds go, maybe what you're on isn't the right one for you.  You could talk to your doctor and tell him you can't tolerate the side effects and they could try something else.  There have also been studies done on Omega 3s and ADHD.  My son has ADHD and we tried just about every med there was and it never made a significant difference.  We decided it wasn't worth the side effects since it wasn't making a difference, particularly in school.

I was told by one ADHD doctor that protein makes a big difference.  I know try to make sure he eats protein at each meal, especially at breakfast.  He also takes a fish oil capsule every morning.  It hasn't made a huge difference but he is doing much better in school, can stay on task, and hasn't missed one homework assignment yet this year.  (It's actually looking like he'll make honor roll ... this from a kid who has to go to summer school every year.)

Good for you for flushing your pills!!!  That's a huge step in the right direction.
