As alot of you know, and alot of you may not know...I am getting married two weeks from today. I live in Houston, and we are now bracing to be hit by Hurricane Dean. He is already a Cat 4 and expected to strengthen. If he hits us as even a Cat 3, my wedding is ruined. Katrina, and all the damage she did, hit the mainland as a Cat 2, believe it or not.
I was fretting...driving my fiance crazy a little while ago and he said, "It's ridiculous to worry about it." I asked him what he meant and he responded by, "What do you want to do? Move the wedding location? Change the date? Redirect the path of the storm?" I chose redirect the path of the storm. He offered to fly me down to the Yucatan penninsula after I finished packing my tin foil and blow dryers and fans.
The point he was making was the message contained in the Serenity Prayer..."God, grant me the courage to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."
When I stopped and realized that...I felt peaceful. Come on, Dean! I refuse to let this ruin my wedding or make me sick between now and then. Just a though! :-}
Everyone have a great day. I'll check back in later.
xoxoxo
