My friends and i recently gave this a try a few times. We decided to make a video of ourselves doing it and send it into americas funniest home videos. Watching someone make them self pass out is one of the funniest things i've seen in a long time. its worth a try!
Basically the feeling they are having is their brain being deprived of oxygen, this is very risky and can be compared to the use of inhalents. This can only bring on problems so let your friends know the danger of this action.

I won't give you the respect of calling you a doctor because I highly dought you are one and if you are you should have your liscense removed. I hope you try it again yourself and go into status epilepticus, then see what you say you stupid idiot if you are still alive!!!!!
You are a practitioner of misaligned thinking and your comments here are totally unwelcome as far as I'm concerned. I doubt that anyone here is going to listen to you. There are lots of sites where you can behave irresponsibly and have a sick joke. Set your browser to those sites and allow the people here to have a safe place to deal with the problems that are destroying their lives. Shame on you.
Mike I'm glad you took the time to ask about this incredibly fun and totally safe practice. The people who are trying to fill your head with these ideas that you need to be careful are the kind of people you know never have fun anyway. The great think about 'passing out' is that it is a remarkably cheap thrill, although for my money passing out is twice as fun with a bottle of cheap vodka and some good marijuana. Anyway, join the fun, close your eyes and enter a seizure-like state, and enjoy.
Oh my god!I'm 30 years old now , but I did this like, 100 x's a day when I was in Junoior High school. Pretty soon It got to the point where I would scream bloody murder for the few seconds I was out, everytime, but couldn't remember why. I have no idea why this is such an addiction. I've been told that it is extremely dangerous. Besides, it's not normal. STOP IT!!!!!
dangerous? i don't know. I remember doing it in highschool (a long, long time ago)for kicks. the worst thing that ever happened was passing out and hitting my head on the cement...well that wasn't the worst thing that ever happened--i then started smoking pot, drinking a lot, cocaine followed, more booze, acid, the big X, lost some close friends...i don't really remember the next ten years (up until now, i'm clean and sober and feel great) but i'm sure i had a great time...NO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mike.. it sounds maybe as if you are still in school. If so, go to the nurse and/or drug-alcohol counselor right away. If you report this activity you do not need to give anyone's name. They will respect your need for confidentiality. This type of report should prompt the school administrators to have an informational program to warn the students that this activity can lead to seizures or death. Even if they do not do an assembly, announcements can be made. You are doing the right thing by seeking information and help.
Yes, very stupid. We did this a few times back when I was in High School. I watched my friend go into a seizure as a result. We never tried this again after that. This kind of behavior could lead to serious medical consequences or death.
Sounds stupid to me! It's too bad they can't feel the full intense pain of a partial convulsive seizure, then maybe they would change their thinking on the subject!
