Advice please

Hi I'm Lindsey and 2 days ago, my girlfriend and I smoked for the first time in 2 years. We smoked weed (sativa) to be exact. We smoked abut 1 gram each. And I know that was wayyy   too much but after 20 minutes the effects hit us HARD. We got intense paranoia  and panic attacks and I was close to callING 911 because my heart was beating really hard and fast. Nevertheless after 3 hours is died down and we felt normal and just felt extremely  sleepy. The next morning we still had a little bit of the effects on us but nothing bad. However we both drank coffee that night and it triggered us to have another panic attack . This morning we woke up like normal. I just had this fear of fear, if you can call it that, of not wanting to get anxious or another panic attack. Before we smoked we both suffered from anxiety especially  at night which is why we turned to weed (-_-) in the first place. I just want some advice and maybe tips on what to do to get rid of this or how long we should wait until it goes away or if this has happened to anyone else.
Please and thanks

Weed is alot different now than back in my day.  Today it is like Robo weed!  Just be very careful.  I would try and stay away from caffeine too as that adds to the anxiety.

I've smoked a lot before and then stopped for 2 years. Yeah I realize now it was stupid but I did it.

There are much healthier ways to deal with anxiety than smoking weed.  The stuff you smoked increases energy and with you already having anxiety it just added to your issues.  How long have you been smoking?
