Am i going to feel sedated on methadone

they said they are starting me with the methadone detox with 30 mgs.....im really nervous about the program... i dont want to back out now... but i still want to stick myself... AH .... i want the madness to end... i know methadone can be the devil if used improperly... but i met many people that methadone saved their lives.... i dunno... please help

If u have to use a secondary narcotic to get clean....all i have to say is go subsoxone...if u must

I would strongly urge you to listen to these folks who have responded, they have said many times that was the hardest W/D ever.
Experience is the best teacher, listen to those who have been there.
Adolf Hitler had it made during the war because they could not get enough narcs for their soldiers, that should tell you something!!

while at the methadone clinic,I encountered daily for a year many heroin addicts and had many discussions with them..not one of them said they wouldn't rather go cold turkey off heroin 5 times to methadone once..

I have been on methadone before. I do not believe it is for the pill poper!! Now if your doing herion that is a different story. I still would not be on it any longer than 4 to 6 weeks. Get on it, then start taping down after the 1st week. if you are on it any longer than that, You will pay the price.. That price is very high.... To me, not worth it..

Yep I am on day ...........i dunno 16 or 17 and I have no idea how but I havent gone back ...............but I am still as sick today as day 3 and I WANT TO DIE> I toy with the idea of going back to the methadione clinic everyday. But I am so scared of having to do this again that I am just fucken trying to make it one more day everyday. I hvaent been able to keep any food down and sleep HA no such thing. I look like death and have lost so much weight. I dont know if my body can take much more. U better consider if u take methadone are YOU WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE LATER??? Oh and youll be so depressed that NOTHING can make u smile and EVERYTHING makes u cry. I STILL WANNA DIE> I pray every minute that GOD just takes me cause I am so miserable.

as far as being sedated...not at first..it's kinda like a bullet in the a$$..at first..Thats what we say..But then you will start to feel tired,It makes everyone gain weight and you seem to crave sugar..don't know what thats all about but, thats the way it is,,and it can rot your teeth,affect your skin and hair..etc..

just educated ur self if u have decided to use a maintenance drug like meth or sub..personally i would choose sub but have not taken either,,,i would read the posts...these are 2 options if u can not quit on ur own,,keep moving forward

as Avis said..there are alot of threads you should check out about methadone..are you already on it? it is torture to come off of..I have had that unfortunate experience. And it is the worst w/d there is..I don't care how it's used..comming off it is the same..The w/ds are months long.and the real physical w/ds last at best 6 weeks..and I mean BAD w/ds..

My personal opinion I would never take methadone .It take months after to get threw withdrawals people go threw hell to come off of it .I think you might want to read some of the threads from people coming off of methadone .If you go up to "search this community"put it methadone there are lots of threads about it . Make sure you research research research before you go on any med.
