Amino Acids For Withdrawl

Hi all. I'm new here, and am attempting,(again), to go,"cold turkey', off prescribed oxycodone for the management of my back injuries/pain. I am a 37yr old Mom of two beautiful girls, and wife of 16 years. As I've said, I've tried this before, but never could make it. My family depends on me every day to be,"ok", and my husband doesn't have this problem, and doesn't,"get", what it is like. I've been doing some homework, and have seen several referances to Amino Acids. the problem here, is that I do not have alot of money, so if anyone could give advice as to the most important ones, or the ones that most helped you, that would be MOST appreciated! In the past, I couldn't make it, because of lack of sleep, and relentless weakness, and anxiety. SO tired of this battle. I just want to be ,"me", again for myself, and my family. Long story short, my doctor,(pain management), has been of little help on the matter, and I have no insurance for a regular doctor, so by myself is the only option:(. I have been on these drugs for about 5 years, and I am SO sick of them controlling ME! Also, I need as many,"healthy minded", friends as possible. Like I said, there is little understanding here, and I live in Sarasota, Florida, one of the,"Capitals", of oxycodone abuse- pretty much everyone I know is on these nasty things. Thanks in advance for all advice, and help.

Welcome to the forum! A good mind set seems to help more than anything. I liked L-Tyrosine and L-Glutamine but you need to figure out what works for you. Melatonin at night helped with the lack of sleep. Research what amount for you. I took 10mg. Now when I need it, I only take 1mg. Hot Epsom salt baths were mentioned, they work wonders on muscle cramps. 3-4cups per bath. Consult the Health Pages here. http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/list?cid=66

Read up on PAWS etc. I tried to learn all I could about this enemy known as addiction.

Never think that you are stronger than it is! That is when you'll lose the fight.!

hi, its good your going to have another go at detoxing, a lot of us have a few attepts before finally getting there, i think the magnesium/calcium supplements are good , along with vitamin b complex, the mag/ cal supplements arent too expensive, immodium for stomache and diorreah is good and camomile tea also, drinking plenty of fluids is important, and water is good and free.  taking hot baths with epsom salts will help also, you know what to expect, so try to be positive, thats half the battle, i wish you well, take care and god bless.
