Hi everyone. Well, I went to my appointment last week at the addiction clinic and it wasn't the one to one appointment with a counsellor that I thought it would be and it will be months of seeing a CPN before I'm offered a date to detox and get off the codeine, so I've decided to take matters into my own hands and I just wanted advice/opinions on my plan. At the minute I'm taking around 180mgs of codeine phosphate (I take 6 * 30mgs tablets in one time). I have decided to reduce this by 12mgs every 5 days in the hope to get my dosage right down over the next few weeks as I have seriously had enough of being in the grip of my addiction. Hi Madge I went to your profile to see if you have posted before. You have been in this mindset for awhile now. The last was you were going to speak with your Pharmacist. You know there never is really a good time to come off this we just have to make the decision and do it.. There will always be something that is not right at this time but if we do not just do it there will never Be a right time.. Hope you make a decision we will all be here to support you, lesa

Hi and welcome to the forum.....as for a taper plan it is agenst the rules to post one here on med help....we can give guide lines though  slow is better one thing I would highly recamend is start going to N/A meeting  the support you get there is ausum and you dont need to be clean to go   you just need the desire to be  clean..... the meetings are only a hour long and it will give you some place to share where the people will understand  just google a n/a meeting near you
