Doloxene withdrawal...what is going to happen?

Hello, i am new to this forum & if anyone could please give me some advice or help in any way i would be so grateful.About Me -I have extreme neck pain, chronic headaches and irritable bowel syndrome & have been taking Doloxene caps for over 10 years now . As a drug they work wonders for all 3  problems but i have become completely addicted to them. I am now on 100 X 100mg caps per week (well over double the required dosage i know!) I have been desperately wanting to get off them completely because of the dependence & am so utterly tired of letting painkillers run my life every minute of every hour of every day. What i would really like to know if anyone can help me please is how bad is the withdrawal going to be if i stop completely? Also how many days will it take to for the drug to be completely out of my system and are there any new drugs out there to help me with the chronic diarrhoea that these tablets work wonders for? The thought of dealing with the neck pain & constant headaches without the painkillers is bad enough but having to put up with diarrhoea nearly every day of my life is more than i can bare. Thanks.

Hello rallylou and welcome to the forum. You are taking a opiate that is similar to codeine, You would feel wd from them for about a week physically like any other opiate user.. the length of time you have been on them will make the emotional/mental take longer... you are asking a two fold question... none of us are Dr.'s but we do have a ask a Dr. forum.. you should look it up and post your question to them on alternative meds.. It is possible to get clean and be ruled no more by drugs You just have to want it bad enough.. do your research speak openly and honestly with your Dr. he would be in a great position to help you through wd and if buying over the counter.. read and pick up tips on ways to make detox more bearable .. keep reading and reaching for support we have a great group here.. lesa
