Any suggestions for pain relief

Hi, I started off taking 2 5/500mg vics a day 4 years ago after knee surgery, I went up to 5-6 pills a day and I just started tapering on Friday, I am now taking 4 per day, tomorrow will be 3, Monday none! I can't keep this up anymore, I have to quit.. i tried quitting before and the leg pain and anxiety were really bad. I now have Klonopin for the anxiety but what can I take to help with the body aches and leg pain? Thanks.. looking forward to getting clean.

Im not a professional but i would recommend maybe a muscle relaxer like for example: Neurontin. You would still have to get a prescription of it from your doc. But I was a heroin addict for 4 years, and thats what i used to help with muscle aches, pain, and insomnia. And that withdrawl is a lot worst. Also a good thing about muscle relaxers is most of them are non addictive unlike vicodin, perkocet, oxy's, xanax. so on...they helped me a lot. Im on Lyrica right now, its like a muscle relaxer, but its really for fibermialga patients for pain..i take it to help me sleep and it also helps with anxiety. Good luck..hope that helps you

Be careful with the Lyrica. It is addictive. I used it on several occassions and at the time I thought it was pretty groovy. I think it originally hit the market as a cure for RLS. I could be wrong.

Do a little research here and you'll find many natual remedies that can help with the symptoms of withdrawal. The last thing you want to do is give up on one type of drug only to find that you now have another to deal with.

Thanks for responding.. yeah I don't want to get hooked on anything else.. this is enough to deal with. I won't try the lyrica because I was on that before for muscle aches and it gave me bad side effects. I only have 2 muscle relaxers so maybe I will cut them in half and take half a day to get me through. Thanks for your support!
