Anyone use suboxone for heroin withdrawal?

My name is mary i am 18yrs old and i have been a heroin addict for 7 months exactly now and i have been sick of it for a very long time and have wanted to stop since i started. I can't get myself to go through the withdrawls because i have severe anxiety and the withdraw on top of that makes me go completely crazy. One of my friends got suboxone and said it was a miracle pill for heroin withdraw. I only want to take them for a week. To overcome my withdraw. Does anyone know how much i should take each day? I used to do four bags a day, but i cut down to 2. I just want my life back. I don't want to and can't stay in a hospital because i have pets and no one to take care of them. I cry day and night. I completely ruined my life in every way shape and form and can't live like this another second. Are there clinics in new jersey near Flemington, sommerville, clinton, or anywhere that i can get a prescrption for suboxone or something of the sort to help me elminate the withdraw sympotoms. I have blue cross and blue sheild insurance so i don't think it would be to pricey.

Thank you for your time and help. <3

just want to wish u luck and tell u to listen to these people who know about the sub..if it takes sub to get clean then use it sparingly and always remeber "less is better" when it comes to sub..a powerful opiate that can catch u by the ying yang if u r not looking out...be safe and always move forward..always be sure u r not moving backward

Hi Marylove----  Cattalina is telling you the gospel truth ---  Listen to her - --- I was on Sub for 21 days and didn't get off soon enough --- It bites hard and is very difficult to come off of. However, having said that, I agree that for a Heroin addiction Sub can be used short time (very short) and help ease the W/D process --  It will not eliminate  the W/D's altogether but will help you through that first week - -- After a week I recommend you just go CT and quit.  Welcome to the site - there is lots of help, advice, and encouragement here. Please stay and post and read.   I would suggest you go to the Health Pages (upper right hand side of this page) and look for a post titled "Members Experiences Coming Off of Suboxone"  It should help you to know all about what others went through.  Keep on the road you are on - you have made a good decision to quit before your habit grows exponentially.  All the best to you.

I understand completely the fear of wds but if you've been down to 2 bags a day it won't be that bad at all! You could probly detox without the sub but I get it if you don't want to or think you can't. So you have to wait at least 24hrs after your last bag before you can take a sub or else it will put you into wicked withdrawals. Once you hit that 24 hour mark take 1mg. (So either half of a 2mg pill or you'll have to break an 8 into pieces.) That 1mg should work, if it doesn't help at all, take another 1mg an hour later. That will prevent you from feeling serious wds. The trick with sub is to take as little as possible for a short time period... sub is super addictive and the wds from it are worse than you could imagine. So that being said - take no more than 2mgs/day for the first 4 days max then 1mg/day 3 days max. If less works - take less!! Sub has a long half life so you may feel kinda icky a few days after you stop the sub but it will not be anywhere close to real wds. Hope that helps you a bit - good luck!

You"ll probably get alot of diff advise on using sub and I hope its helpful but I think you should do a little research on addiction. Many say your born an addict, others say things that happened thruout your life has alot to do with it but I dont think anyone can say "this is exactly when I became an addict". Dependancy is a diff story but either way theres no "miricle pill" that will just make it all go away. You"ll hear people say over and over that quitting is the easy part,,staying quit takes time, work and a few other things that arent found in a pill,,gl to ya
