Arrggghh ... Another Question - You All are THEE Best!

Hi All!!

I have posted here a few times before and everyone is so great. Just a quick history, I was on lorcet (hydrocodone) for 2 years off and on at "only" 3 a day. I took myself off of them and had none for about a month. Well ... I ended up passing a kidney stone last Friday and was given the lorcet again. Used 14 in 5 days. My BIG ? is ... of course, will I have withdrawal symptoms now that I have quit taking them even though is was not alot ????  Thank you, you are all so patient and kind and I am in awe of everyone on this board regardless of where people are at with their journeys.

I wouldnt think that physical withdrawals would be the problem, I think its the mental problems thats going to effect you. Just remember that its a feeling and that it will pass. If you get to thinking about it, do something to take your mind off of it. Posting here, listening to music, taking a walk, read a book, watch a movie, working out, cleaning house. Anything to change the thinking process.

just keep doing the next right thing,
peace and love,
carrie

Oh god, kidney stones are just awful, aren't they? After someone stops a long term addiction they have inactive receptors that can easily be "woken up" and quickly put you back where you started, so I think it is possible for you to have withdrawals even though you took the pills for a short time. But on the other hand, only 14 pills stretched out over 5 days seems unlikely to cause you a big problem. And I think the fact that you were taking them for what was probably intense pain makes it a little less likely that that the receptors would re-activate in the same way they would if you took the pills for the buzz. I hope that's the case for you. Good luck.
