susieq good post . I am gald to hear you dont use them anymore
My experience has been that I use the Ativan in what I qould call emergencies with anxiety attacks. I now no longer use them as they have an addictive potential. They are very short term as far as how long they last. If used, it shuld be under supervision and short term.
Nope, they are right. Not narcotic but still abuse potential. WD's from Narcotics make you feel crappy but you get over it. You can't cold turkey benzos not unless you want to seize for a while.
Lorazepam (Ativan) is alot like Xanax. It binds to the same plasma proteins, has almost the same properties, is a CNS depressant, etc.
My Father has been addicted to Ativan for 3 years.
Continued use of Ativan will lessen motor skills and should be taken in small doses until you know how it will affect you.
i work in a pharmacy it is a controlled rx. but it is not in the catergory of narcotic pain meds
Definitely is a controlled substance, not a narcotic, it is a sedative/ hypnotic, benzodiazepine, antianxiety agent. Has potential for abuse. Narcotic are pain-relievers
