So, I went to the doctor yesterday due to my recurrent back pain (which got me on vicodin to begin with you may or may not recall)..I'd gone to the ER 2 weeks ago and they gave me ultram and skelaksan (sp?)..which helped some, but yesterday turned out to be a particularly painful day to where I was feeling pain down my right leg and across my lower back..The doctor (knowing my history) did not give me opiates, but instead more ultram (which I took no more than 2 per day previously and instead of skelaksan he wanted to go stronger, so he gave me Soma (I know I've read negative things about it here) and prednizone.
Well, I took 2 of the ultram (tramadol) last night and 1 of the soma (both per prescription) and I felt fine until I stood
up and my legs felt like rubber bands and I had a heck of a time walking straight, and by about 9PM I was ready to sleep..but didn't..at 1130 or so, I was still feeling pretty woozy..
This afternoon I dropped down to 1 ultram and Soma and still felt a little wobbly. I worked from home today which made it easy (glad I didn't have to drive anyhere) until I decided to move my laptop, mouse and related wires and plugs, and cell phone from the living room to the family room all while I was on a conference call, normally an easy task..not today..I got to the kitchen, the dog was lying on the floor, normally I can step over him..not today.I lifted
one foot, lost my footing and down I went, twisting my knee, hurting my wrist a bit and rather embarrassed that I missed some of the call (which was boring anyway)..and the dog enjoyed it as he came up to check me out, licking me and wanting to play.
I don't know that I can take these things every day like I"m supposed to and function..maybe all that wears off in time? I"m certainly not going to drive on the Soma,anyway..
Next week I have a CAT scan on the back...they wanted to do an MRI until they remembered I have a pacemaker and they were concerned the MRI would suck the pacemaker right outta my chest..not the desired outcome of the procedure.
