Backpain and low usage--how to safely detox

had severe tooth issues that required pain mers for almost a month. about 4-6 vicodin a day 7/750. I had also been having severe back pain that my doctor's completely ignored. ~ found the vicodin helped me to be more flexible.  overtime they are less effective. what is the best way to detoX off of them at home? I do not get support from my doctors and haven't received any help with the back pain. if the dosage is low, about 6 or less per day, how long will a detoX last?

Hi~ It won't last very long but we're all different in that department. I'd say: inside of 7 days.  You haven't been taking them very long so you might just want to jump off now.

Drink water and juices to flush the opiates out of your system.  Be sure to eat well.
Read the health pages on this site. Upper right hand corner. There's info about the Thomas Recipe and at home detox...

Post with any questions. There's much support here !

Hi & Welcome,

You got good advise above. My only question is do you still have back pain and/or tooth pain? If so, what are your plans for relief?

I have been doing more exercise and taking non narcotics for the pain. also looking into seeing a chiropractor. I am worried because my tolerance has increased. 2 pics would make me nauseous, now they do not. how can I lower my tolerance? how long to completely flush the pics out of my system?

I'm not certain it's possible to lower your tolerance ever again...but you were only on them briefly so maybe you could.  If you don't take them for months and months your tolerance COULD lower.

Opiates should be out of you body after 72 hours from last dose. Keep forcing the fluids and it could be a bit sooner but not much.

thank you! I guess it is more about the fear of the detoX. I have some saved, but want to reserve them only for when I really need it. I sometimes feel anxiety around not using them...... I guess it is all mental. does alcohol make detox worse?

Are you asking if you can drink alcohol?  Or are you stopping that too? I'm not clear.

If you want to know if drinking makes withdrawals worse...I don't think so but it doesn't help, either, except that it's a liquid.  :)

Yes, a lot of this is mental...and having some saved isn't good. They'll scream you're name and you'll probably take them...

bodies are really good at remembering opiates the brain does not forget so for most when they use again they find there tolerance is higher and end up needing  more then the last time they used .I would not use alcohol for detox or anything else addictive ...

day 1 complete and feeling good. I think it may be mental, though I have been a bit nauseous and not wanting anything heavy on my stomach. I had half a glass of wine before bed. it was ok, but not something I want to drink everyday.

been feeling like wanting to go home and just lie in the dark for a while. I have been feeling a bit depressed, and the vics help to give me energy and lower anxiety. I am just trying to learn how to relax and ease my back tension and anxiety without them......
