We made it to day 12!!!

Hubby & I have made it to DAY 12!!!! We've had some depression and anxiety. I got put on an anti-depressant because I think I've needed one all along but the tramadol covered it up. We are determined to stay clean. We've lost everything we had over & over again and saw it starting again and it's not going to happen again.

I'll tell you our story(short version). Started taking hydros before we got married and it just got worse after we were married. We lost our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th apartment we lived in due to spending all our money on pills. We even lived in a motel for about 6 mths. A dr. gave him tramadol & he took it & said he didn't feel any hydro withdraws(which was awesome) so I got my dr. to change my prescription to tramadol too. We both took those for a couple years & of course took way more then we should have. Friends at work started giving him a hydro here & there, then he started buying a few and bam he was back on them. Of course it started out a couple hydros a day and escalated to way more than that. I kept taking the tramadol & both of us were stuck. In the end I started taking a few hydros a day and still taking my tramadol. That's when we knew it had to stop. We were letting bills go so we could buy pills & we knew all to well we were on the verge of losing everything we had again. We have 2 kids and I hated the fact if I wanted to buy them a $20 toy I couldn't because all the money we had was spent on pills. We're done with it & we have each other to account too.

We never thought we'd be 12 days clean and we know it's going to be hard but we'll make it. Oh taking imodium in the beginning helped tremendously. I took a dose higher than recommended and use at your own discretion. "Google imodium for opiate withdraw" and have some sense people, don't use 20-30 of them at a time, that's craziness!!!!

Lol!!! Love it! Hmm I wonder if I should have made my username "We are gonna make it" instead of I...hehe a lil selfish!!! Luckily hubby don't care if I included him in my username. lol Anyways, I have the absolute best hubby. I had talked about quittin a few times and he never really talked about it until about a month ago when I had gotten back on hydros & still takin my tramadol. I broke down to him & told him I was so depressed and couldn't live this life anymore. All I was worrying about was pills & money and I was stressed beyond belief. We agreed when we ran out we were done with them & we just so happened to run out the same day. He has helped me so much with our 2 yr old during this(prob more than his share) & I'm so thankful for him!

OMG GREAT JOB!!!  I know you don't feel very lucky right now, so what is the word I can use, well, something like.. you are lucky to have your spouse deciding to go through this with you as a team, and making this accomplishment together. WOW. I know it still s*cks, but its so much better withthe support, not having to hide your WD from your spouse.

You guys have come so far together, its wonderful.

hang in there, another 12 days and you will be celebrating, and another 12 you will be on a cloud, you will smell liek you havn't in a while, you will taste you will feel, you will truely laugh, you will feel GOOD. Mucis will feel good, and SEX, YES!!! imagine how that is gonna be!!

Keep up the great work, and give him a hug from me too,
hugs,
Lily
