Blood Pressure Drugs

Guy's I have a question. I am on day 3 of my Tramadol withdrawl and I am so out of breath and my pulse is racing. Mychest actually hurts. Now Im no docotor but from feeling my pulse I may be experiencing high blood pressure. My wife takes high blood pressure medicine called DIOVAN which is VALSARTAN 160MG. Is it possible for me to take one of these right now and experience reliefe? I know BP medicine is dangerous to take without RX. HA HA HA HA HA HA And the friggin Pain Killers arent??? You get me idea. I just dont want to slow down my bp and drop dead. What do you guys think???

Fast pulse is no indicator of high blood pressure as the others have stated.
When I quit vikes my heart was also racing but blood pressure was 115/75.
Doc put me on Toprol XL to help.

Good Luck

glad you got a kick out of my saying that you shouldn't take a b.p. medication that was not prescribed for you. This is not the same as taking a pain pill. If you want to mess with your cardiovascular system, that's your choice.  As a physician, I'm telling you its not an intelligent thing to do.

You cannot tell by your pulse if your blood pressure is high or not.

you need to go to the doctor, do not take your spouses meds, the dose is tailored to her, go to the docs and ask for some clonidine...works great for withdrawals...alot of people here have taken it...

I just went through the very same thing last night-actually thought i was going to end up in the ER. (I have high blood pressure already). Anyway, went to doctor today who wouldn't prescribe the clonidine-and then resorted to doctor that I go to for anxiety(PRN) and he did give me a script. The medical doctor said it sounded like a "panic attack"-or that it could be withdrawals from oxycodone. Didn't offer a thing. I have tapered quickly from 30-40mg of oxycodone a day-to 5mgs a day. I am hoping this medicine works as it was scary for me. Just wanted to let you know someone else felt the same way!!! Definitely go see a doctor-just to be sure!!!

OMG I looked it up on RXLIST.COM and it comes up with all this pharmacology about heart valve changes. NOPE don't think I'm taking that one. I guess I will just tough it out and sit down and relax. Thanks anyways guys. NO, No valium or I would have already taken it.

I took clonidine maybe you could call a pharmacy and see how those 2 meds compare to eachother. For most addicts they prescribe .1mg 3times a day

Tuff question. Never heard of either of them and don't want you to drop dead. You don't have anything else?  valuim etc...   I know we are not suppose to recomment that.  I guess I wouldn't risk it.  Can you see a doctor or even go to the ER.  I hear they will help people in withdrawl.  Sorry I'm not much help.  Hang in there. Others will be coming on soon.
