Breast implants while on suboxone

I am suppose to have breast implants put in in one month and i am freaking out that it is going to hurt like crazy. I have been on suboxone for seven years now and don't know if there will be anything strong enough to touch the pain after my surgery. I think I have bulit up such a resistence to opiates. Is there anything  I can take after the surgery to help with the pain? Thanks

Speak with dr. regarding surgery on subs. I have titrated myself down from three 8mg/d to one and am also planning my breast augmentation (this is my reward for getting off heroin). My plan (along with my sub doctor, surgeon, and anesthesiologist coordinating) with me is to wean to zero, then detox a few days and start a pain management regimen until surgery. After surgery, wean off those and return to sub for a while...

I am on suboxone as well for over 8 years 4 mg and it is so hard to taper down. I am in AA NA and only around sober people . I too want to have implant surgery and would like to know how to do this. I have been an opiate addict since I was 14 now I am 45 - with 10 years off . it takes what it takes and i am doing the best I can.. the side effects are the most scary part and anxiety is high on suboxone so it is often coupled with colonipin or Xanax just carfull as this can cause death abused. I do not abuse my suboxone and take 2 mg of colonopin twice a day after at least 3 hours of the suboxone that works out well. I also have the numbness of arms and no appetite plus a sleep disorder.. so who said live was easy. I am a single mom full time working .. gotta do what you gotta do everyone. does anyone have gone off the suboxone? I need tips... did you do the surgery and how?

Don't despair,  talk to your surgeon and also to your sub doc and possibly have them talk to each other. Explain to your surgeon that you are on subs and that they block the opiates in your brain and that because of this, you have a higher tolerance to opiate pain killers. They should work with you. In the mean time try to taper to a comfy dose of the suboxone. As to the people on this forum: shame all over you for shaming her about being on suboxone for so long. She's doing the best she can with her addiction and she is making a responsible choice NOT using illegal drugs. She came here seeking advice not to be shamed. I'm glad that I don't live in a glass house! Don't be scared Kathy226, you do you and don't worry about the rest. God loves us addicts as well as the people who don't know what it's like!

What are you on subs for seven years now. Sounds like your afraid to deal with reality. Don't get breast implants before you deal.
