Buspar...anyone here take(n) it?

I was just prescribed it from my general physician. He does not know about my pain pill problems but I have been going to him for anxiety for years. I have been prescribed Ativan and ambian for YEARS. Now he has switched me to Buspar and valum when needed. No problem switching because I rarely take the Ativan anyway and have been out of ambien for months. But the more I read about buspar it seems pretty good!  Once a day pill, supposedly non addictive and had anti depressant quality and works on serotonin receptors and some other happy areas of the brain. And it is used to reduce stress anxiety, SWEATING, heart racing and all kinds of stuff that seems to go along with withdrawls. I am wondering if I start it now if it will even maybe help with the w/d's when I make the jump again in a week or so?  Seems like it could help. Anyone have any experiences wiith it??

I tryed to submit a longer answer just a while ago, and it didn't post so this will be short. I took buspar for years along with my prozac to increase its potentcy. It worked great for that and I never did have any problems with it. I know three or four other people that took it for the same reason, to increase effect of antidepressants and they all had good results with it. It is real cheep and as far as I know it dosn't have many problems associated with it.

I haven't taken it.  I do know someone who did and had some success with it.  They were not addicted to anything though.  I think that if you go into it knowing that the effects will be gradual and not like a benzo, then you might be surprised how much it helps.  

This is none of my business, but if your physician is going to prescribe meds for you, especially for anxiety, I think you should be honest with him so he can help you in the right way.  What do you think?
