hi spider. i love you but i don't know anything about Celebrex. they had a really catchy song a while back though and that was neato.

Hey Spidey!!
During my MANY, MANY trials of non-narcotic meds, Celebrex is one of the meds I tried for my chronic pain. I thought I'd do great on it since my mom and one of my sisters both take it with no problems at ALL. (and they have been on it for YEARS).
Well low and behold......"I" start getting chest pains and had shortness of breath issues. I got the paperwork back out....and yep....there was a warning of" possible increased risk of serious adverse cardioovascular thrombotic events, myocardial infarction and stroke, which could be fatal."
Granted.....it said an increase risk......and POSSIBLE.
I was scheduled for a test where anesthesia was required after I'd been on Celebrex for 3 weeks.....and the anesthesiologist called me AT HOME and said she wouldn't perform the test until I had CARDIAC CLEARANCE!!
So then I had to see yet ANOTHER doctor....have a nuclear stress test, etc. to get that clearance!! Of course, after I got off the Celebrex....I was just dandy cardio-wise. It was my personal reaction to the drug. Plus it was going to cost me a FORTUNE $$$...so that just sealed the deal☺☺
Hey there you. Celebrex is a non steroidal anti inflammatory, much like motrin or advil, just stronger. It is non addictive and should help ease his back pain. The main risk is if the patient has heart disease it could lead to a heart attack.
