PS..I just noticed that you are in Toronto and I am in Ontario as well.We don't have percogesic, but we do have robaxacet which is tylenol with a muscle relaxant that I took at night. To help get a few nights sleep,I took Nyquil...the one without the decongestant..which worked wonders to help sleep.Total tylenol dose must not exceed 4000mg/day and ibuprofen 1600mg/day.Nyquil contains 1000mg tylenol.
I quit tyl3 over 3 months ago.I was taking them for rheumatoid arthrtitis pain,8-10/day.I realized that I was looking forward to the high more than the pain relief and decided to quit. The first 3 days were difficult with all the symptoms and the rebound pain was tremendous.I took 2 extrastrength tylenol and 800mg ibuprofen every 4 hours for about 3 or 4 days and the pain subsided.I was able to decrease the ibuprofen, but staill take 2 extrastrength tylenol every 4 hours, max 8/day.I took all the vitamins b12 1000mcg/day under the tongue,vitd2000u/day,omegas,b complex with zinc.I also had epsom salt soaks.I now control my pain with otc pain meds.In USA there is an effective otc pain med called percogesic.I have had no cravings or severe pain since I quit the opiates. They cause more rebound pain than the otc stuff.I was still able to work approx 50 hours a week on my feet thru the withdrawals.
Charetti is right, Tylenol 3 at your dose is not that bad and will be much easier to quit than Vicodin or Percocet. If you are only taking 3 per day, the best way to minimize withdrawal would be to taper your dose. If you are taking one pill, 3X per day, then start by trying to take 1/2 pill vs a whole one - essentially see if you can cut your dose in half. You may feel a little withdrawal, but it should not be too bad. Try the half dose for two - three days, then cut that down by 1/4 - 1/2. Also, take your doses further apart in time. Get to the point where you are only taking 1/2 - 1 pill per day total, then quit altogether. If you can't do this on your own - many people can't - do you have someone who can support you by giving you your pills at the right times - and no more? Best of luck to you.
Its great that you are reaching out for support right now. I started my addiction with tylenol 3s and over time it grew to percocets and then oxycontin. Please stop before it gets this bad for you too.
Its sounds like you arent taking so much that withdrawal will be unmanageable but you will have some sickness. Best way to perdict is to think aobut what the pills do for you now. Withdrawal will be the opposite. For example you could have pain, diahrea, fatigue, depression. However it wont last more than 5 or 6 days and then you will be free.
Aside from the codeine addiction remember that all that tylenol could seriously hurt your kidneys. Talk to your doc and cut off your source for extra pills.
Good luck
