Codeine withdrawal & scared

Hi-I've been reading everyone's post now for a couple of days & everyone seems so supportive.  I am on day 2 of codeine withdrawal. It started legit w/ Tylenol 3 from my PC dr for migraines. After a year he wasn't comfortable giving them to me anymore. I was taking 1-3 a few days a week. I went to a neurologist and she put me on a preventative w/ a script for breakthrough headache (Tylenol 3 again) 10 tabs 2x a month. Last year I fought the flu & was prescribed Hycodan. Well, that did it for me.  Once a month (sometimes 2-3 times a month) I would go to doc in a box & get hycodan. My nuerologist said she didn't want to care for me anymore & let me go as a patient. My PC kept me on preventatives and at one of the doc in box I got Fiorcet for my headaches.  When I asked for a refill he cut me off & now his office won't return my calls. So, I suspect he is about to drop me. Anyway. I'm tired of this chasing down med's & want off this train. I'm in withdrawals, don't know how to tell my husband & I'm scared to death of doctor shopping if the dr. Reports me. Any advice?

I know that for the longest time I tried tp pretend with my wife. I thought she would never understand.
I was way wrong. She is my biggest supporter now. I am several months into my recovery now, and just today I was talking about my ongoing recovery with her.
If not your spouse, then find someone to face to face get it all out in the open. This really helps I think.

Hi there-  Well, my advice is to stop running around to different places but you've realized that so you found you're way to us...it's a great first step!

Now...you're withdrawing from T3?  What about the Hycodan and Fioricet? Is it gone?

It's hard to say what the doctor will do...can you tell us more? Some here have been in that situation.   About telling your husband...it might be nice to have his support...Is your relationship good to begin with?

Welcome to the forum.....you're in the right place.  I'm not really clear on what you are w/drawing from?  Fioricet, Tyl #3's or Hydros or all of them?

I've never heard of being prescribed hydrocodone for the flu....and are you saying you went 2-3x a month to get refills and that's why you got cut off?

Fioricet shouldn't be cold turkeyed.....do you have any pills left?  Tell us a little more and we will help you all we can, ok?

Talking to you hubby may be really hard if he has no clue you've been taking narcotics at all...but it will lift a huge weight off your shoulders to be honest with him and gain some personal support.

Let us know some more about you....lots of us have successfully gotten off pain meds....and you can too~

BUMP!!! It has been 18 hrs so I will put this back up front..Just keep checking your post..We have alot of caring people that will help you out during & after detox. I am just going to say have Patience and take it min by min or day by day. It will get better with Time. Staying clean is where the work begins. Keep drinking LOTS of water. Take some good vit/min, diet & exercise..
