My son has used again and came to us and wants to detox at home this weekend....He has always been in jail or rehab to go thru this and I am not sure what exactly to expect if any one has some suggestions please i am begging for any info i can get to help him thru this...

Honey,, Heroin is a tough one... I would MOST definately involve your Doctor with this one,,,

And, may I suggest that you locate a local NARANON meeting.. so that you can connect with other folks who are going thru what you're going thru...

Also... keep us posted on what's going on as we're out here for you... anytime...

Support him in any way that you can.  Let him know it constantly.  It means alot in recovery.

Get him on this forum if you can.  The people here are great!

My son came home years ago with a heroin addiction. He told me just leave him alone, let him go thru this by himself. He stayed in his bedroom for a week or so, only coming out to eat or drink. He did not sleep very much. He told me to just leave him alone because he did not want to say anything to me that would hurt my feelings. He went thru hell, but he has not done it since then. Just ask him to let you know what he wants, he'll come to you. My son used to come out of his room in the middle of the night when I was still awake. He would say things like I cant do this, mom. Or I can't go thru this anymore, he would cry or he would be mad. I was just there to listen and hug him when he needed it. God Bless.
