***Crack follow-up post***

*Follow-up**

I wanted to thank everyone for their support, I realized many suggested that I give more details on my situation. Here goes!!

I have always had an addictive personality I suppose, I also have always been very active, social, and my career for many years has been in the design & fitness field.  During the 80's everyone did "lines" I was no exception especially here in the city....but never crack until about a year ago.

I was diagnosed with a spinal issue maybe 6 years ago and was on  pain meds off & on since 2009; Vicoden, then Norco, then Oxycontin which I gave up 1/2012. I have been on Methadone, but these places are a den of druggies, and unfortunates...Anyway, yes I tried smoking crack and it is as bad as they say!!

Now, I am having numbness in both feet kind of a Neuropathy kind of thing...so Any help getting off is much appreciated!!

How do I stop, what kind of side effects of withdrawal can I expect?

I feel I am toxic & I am scared! -Thank you!!!

Cocaine addiction is all mental, from what I've read.  There isn't any physical w/d.

Your symptoms (numbness) are worrisome.  Cocaine is a very dangerous drug that can lead to strokes, bleeds, heart problems.  I would highly recommend you be seen by a doctor right away, and please tell them aboiut your use, so you can get the proper work up.  This is nothing to mess with.

Best to you.

The research I did on crack shows that the biggest problem withdrawing is the cravings.  I guess you get them after every time you use though.  It would really be beneficial for you to talk to your doctor and get some help.
Your other symptoms may be anxiety and being unable to sleep.
Those are things your doctor can help you with.  It is strongly recommended that you do an inpatient detox though because of the intense cravings and your likelihood to relapse.
I really wish you the best.
Please let us know how you make out.

I think your question here is the same as yesterday??  Not sure.
You are scared and wanting help on knowing what to expect??  Is that right?
The link I gave you last night can be clicked on and take you directly to the answer to some of your questions.  The person that is sharing in this link KNOWS about crack/cocaine addiction.  The first sentence that jumped off the page at me was that the physiological cravings for coke addicts are stronger than those for any other type of addict.
Please read that if you want some understanding or do a search as I suggested yesterday.....you'll have to search out the coke addicts' comments as they aren't as populous as opiate addicts it seems.

I don't know anything about crack except it is highly addictive and you can never experience your first high again.  Never wanted to try cocaine or crack as I was afraid of side effects.  Now pain pills is another thing.  Easy to get hooked because they are prescribed.  I would have never thought of myself as someone that could get addicted, but it can happen to anyone.  I hope someone comes along with support for you.
