Sometimes using ice is better than heat. I takes swelling down. When tissue is inflamed it can push on nerves. Alternating heat & cold works too. You need to experiment.
ive got every over the counter drug that exists lol, nothing is working so far, waiting for thid voltren to get in my system good and see if it helps i dunno maybe ill go get some heat wraps or something, i think i spent less on pills than i am on fighting them off, but im not going back, and to goingtomakeit if it is w/ds hopefully by day 24 the day b4 i go to the pain clinic it will be gone and ill cancel it, i really hope its withdrawals and not a serious problem
i hope so, after day 10 seems like my pain is increasing with each day, but i dont care how bad my body wants pain meds its not getting them
One more comment on your prolonged withdrawals that was pounded in my head in early recovery: You didn't become an addict overnight, in a month or even a few months. Don't expect to be totally fine overnight, in a month or even a few months. But as each day goes by, you begin to feel better.
Nice work.
I started to use recreationally. I had had surgeries, wisdom teeth pulled, etc., but my "getting high" started for fun. When I got into them hard I started to exaggerate symptoms for scripts and got in with several doctors (only one at a time though) and even had an unnecessary surgery on my finger.
When I went to treatment, I had a quite noticeable pain in my lower back, as well as dull headaches. As others said, it is the addiction trying to convince you that the meds are necessary.
I also feel that when high, I always slept like a baby. I am certain that sleeping long hours in odd positions added to the pain I now feel in my back and mostly neck. I don't know just a thought.
To be honest, pills I called 'junk' or 'placebos' like aleve, ibuprofen and tylenol actually do help take the pain away. When using, I refused to even try because "I knew they wouldn't do anything."
There could be something going on in your back. But I am almost certain that the acuteness of the pain is w/ds.
I procrastinated using when I wanted to use. It helped. Hopefully by the 23rd you will be alot better. Have you got any aleve or other otc drug? I think taking a walk is a good idea too. It may help to work the kinks out of your body (and mind maybe LOL)
id say that the worst of my addiction was 80-100mgs for bout 2 months then cut in half over the time i was trying to quit, i really didnt start feeling this back pain until day 11 days 6-10 i felt pretty good, i think my habit is kinda minut compared to others on here, im seriously haveing a sharp pain in the center of my back, when i stand up is the only time it goes away, could this seriously be w/ds still, well my pain clinic appointment isnt until the 23rd, ill be 24 days clean the day b4 it, if the pain goes away the appt will be cancelled, what really gets me is i went to the chiropracter and he did a x-ray and showed me my problem, when i went to the hospital to get an x-ray they say no problem, did the chiro lie to me, this is so frustrating and depressing, but im standing strong on no pain pills, that part of my life is over, ive have more confidence than ever, i would have to be in some severe srying pain before i would even consider it, and even then i might fight it, thanx everyone for helping me, im no longer a lost cause as i was in nov and dec, ive overcome my addiction and tend to keep it that way
Pain clinic hmmmm. I agree with others here that it very well could be wds. I had ALOT of pain at 2 weeks. My body was saying "I'm in pain here man, where's my drugs!!!" But I did'nt take any and I'm in less pain now. MUCH less pain than in addiction.
i think my doctor doesnt believe im in pain so i dont have to worry bout that, and i told him i didnt want anything addicting, so he prescribed voltran it hasnt worked so far, i do not want to take anymore pain pills, im 14 days now and i dont want to go back, im glad they didnt find anything in the x-ray, but something is wrong and i want to know what it is and get it fixed, i dont want to mask pain with pills, i want the source of the problem fixed, then i wont need pills, this is so frustrating
Don't let them prescribe pain meds. You are in charge of what they give you. Great job on two weeks. I still had back pains from the 'meds'. It was into 2nd and 3rd weeks that I felt less pain than before.
x-rays came back with no problem, figures, so they are referring me to a pain clinic to be evaluated
no pain anywhere except my back, thats why my doctor said it probably wasnt a nerve, it is a travelling pain, the center of my back, or the thorasic section is were i get sharp pains, and i got dull aches that go to my lower right and left back and sometimes dull aches go right and left of the sharp pain in the center, aside from that the rest of my body is fine
More than likely you're going to need an MRI and not just an X-ray. They can see if anything is wrong with your vertebre with an X-ray but as far as discs and your sciatic nerve are concerned you will need an MRI. Do you have any pain in your rear end or down your legs? That is a definite indication that you probably have a pinched sciatic nerve and if you do, you definitely need to give your doctor that information.
im waiting for my doctor to call me with x-ray results, i dont think it is still w/ds all my muscle aches are gone, this is like a dull ache in my back and depending on how i move turn etc it can be really sharp pain, plus if i run my fingers down my spine two vertabrae are missing or sunk in or something, the chiropracter said the 2 vertabrae are pinching a nerve, my regular doctor doesnt seem to think so, so im still waiting on them
I was taking them all the tme for fun. My back was screwed up to. I will tell you what it is later when I can look up the correct spellig. I'll just make it easy and say my spine in "curving". It caused a replase or two to mask the pain.
This may still be a syptom of detox. I know it has been 14 dayss, but it takes a while to get your body back to normal. I say alway see a doctor to make sure.
Two weeks. Congrats.
It really could be muscle aches from w/d's - - but remember how easy it is to hurt yourself when you have a "medical" dose of a painkiller in you. I have fractured and broken stuff that didn't bother me until I was off the feel good meds.
That's a good question. I have often wondered if by using these pills they aren't masking another pain I have been having that could be a real health issue. Pain is there for a reason, to tell you something is wrong.
Dove
sure it can still be withdrawl , it is your body yelling give me meds give me meds ..try some mild exercise it will do wonders.
