DAY 7 CLEAN FROM VICODIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well today is day 7 I am clean from Vicodin......I am starting to be over the wd's and i am getting a little of my natural energy drive back!!  also the worst 2 things are almost over restless leg feeling at night and the insomnia. I am also getting my appetite back......which is scary because I was kind of on a vicodin diet.....I am sure most people who abused them were....I lost a lot of weight and I would like to keep the weight off now since I am no longer taking the pills. Oh well I will take 10 lbs anyday over still being a addict!!! I would like to thank everyone who answered questions on my posts....i am taking it 1 day at a time.....God bless everyone!!  This forum has been the strength to my demon I was fighting!!

Thanks......yea me and my husband quit on the same day...we just said the hell with this lifestyle!!  So I think it is neat we will share a soberity date....our anniv. date..we already share our home and the children!!   I would say only restless leg is slowing me down now....Today is the first time I have really cleaned my house without having to take 2 vics first!!! I am so glad we came to the decision to give it up.We told each other...well I guess we would rather spend $20 a day on eating out then $50a day on vics!!  My husband is feeling better also...he mowed the entire yard today and took the kids out in the pool for 2.5 hours today....and also spent like 2 hours on the garden staking the tomatos....he took the w/d a lot better then I did....but I think I messed mine up because I took the tramadols on Monday and he didn't......Thanks for your input....ttyl

congrats to you...7 days is great and the worst is over....as each week passes you will feel better and better...i know what you mean about the diet...i never ate on the pills and was actually too thin...i have put on about 40 lbs...yes 40 but im ok with it...i feel good but i did trade one addiction for another (food) so be careful.  i always advise people to eat whatever they want the first couple weeks...i know it helped me feel better but it never stopped..lol..
i know i can lose the weight but at this point in my life i m not worried...when i m ready to lose the lbs i will...like you said i d rather have some extra poundage then fight will the pills...keep on going...you re doing great...maria :)

I am kind of using this as my after care.....I am positive I can keep clean, and whenever I am having my cravings of relapsing I just hop on here and type away!!!  I cannot begin to tell you how big of a part this forum has played a role in my recovery. Just to hear the stories of everyone is so reassuring this can be done. I am so pleased that the physical part of detox is over but as everyone said the mental part is the hardest by far. I do have the depression feeling so i began taking my celexa and hopefully it starts to kick in within another week......I TOOK A HUGE STEP AND CALLED TO HAVE ME AND MY HUSBAND'S MEDICAL RECORDS RELEASED TO A DIFFERENT PHYSICIAN. i NO LONGER WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH THAT DR.........Besides some major stuff went down there a couple weeks ago involving the place supp. being a pill mill.....which I do believe that is exactly what they are......I had been going there a while and just this past year I was asked by the physician to go see a pain specialist.....I said sure.....I then asked his nurse as I was leaving why this all a sudden? She said we are just doing this to cover our ***** legally.....once you go see them they will give you a paper stating what we prescribe is appr......and you will never have to see them again.....She said don't worry we have something already worked out with this physician.....I think she said that because I stated we had one by my work i would like to go see. Once again thanks to everyone.....I am going to go clean some more now to keep my mind busy!! ttyl

I'm happy for you that you made it this far.  I agree with gnarly about after care.  I've been going to 12 Step meetings for over 2 years, and I have a Sponsor.

I have to be honest and say I didn't really care much for it in the beginning, but I kept going back anyway and now looking back I can see that it was very helpful for me, and I have learned alot from going to meetings.

I wish you all the best.

Hey congrads on 7 days and making it thew to the other side...now comes the real work staying clean...do yourself a BIG favor and check into some form of aftercare..it is not an optional part of recovery it is essential to long term sobriety ...there is a direct correlation to those that have major clean time and use aftercare...it will more then double your chance of success...please dont skip this step....you dont want to have to do this ever again good luck and God bless......Gnarly
