DOES ANYONE HAVE EXPERIENCE Going OFF FENTANYL PATCH ??? PLEASE!!!!

Hi,
Does anyone have experience going off the Fentanyl Patch??  I was on 25 mcg of it for 1.9 years prescribed by doctor. I went off on Sept 21, 2012 and moved to taper with Vicodin 73.5 and Xanax in divided doses over a 24 hour period.

This IS SO HARD !!!!! I Really Need help from anyone who knows what to expect ( both physically and every other way) - as the doc that prescribed it did not explain ANYTHING to me or even offer a taper plan.

Please, if ANYONE can help, I would be soooo GRATEFUL.

I am on day 17 OFF patch- so I am in the " EYE of the STORM', But, really, really HOPING that this will come to an END SOON !!!!!

NO doc on call when doc is out of office. He has his own clinic and works as lone doctor. His nurse is NO HELP at all. And, I cannot go back to the monster pain doc - LORD only knows what he would try and do . I do not trust him ONE BIT- he scares the dickens out of me- and, he changes his staff EVER FEW W EEKS- OR MONTH- which tells me that someone is looking over his shoulder and that is NOT GOOD.

hello honey.  i dont know about your demon patch.  but i can tell you have done very well toughing it out.  you have really hung in there.  sounds like you are at least half way thru. i am with nursegirl in that there should be a doctor on call even if your doctor is out of the office.  i bet nausea is part of it.  i will look it up for you.  take care.  i am here for you.

Discovered I had more nausea  this morning. DOES anyone know if that is part of the process of going off the demon patch???
Technically, I am only on day 16 OFF the patch- and most think that i am about 2/3 of the way through the detox with taper.

DOES anyone know if this is an accurate time line? I am trying to find a timeline for the fentanyl patch under taper meds ( I do know taper meds are all different).

If anyone has a site or link they know of- PLEASE can you post to this ??

Been calling the PCP to get in sooner- and his staff just does not seem to get it. I demanded to have the doctor call me- they said they are " working on it". was supposed to see the pain monster doc tomorrow, but had to cancel as  I do NOT trust him- it would make me toooo anxiety ridden and my instincts tell me to stay away from him for a while.
I have to listen to my instincts and GOD on this one !! The pain doc that did not care or help, is now wanting to see me because he is in trouble with the DEA from other patients. WOW- NOW he wants to " act like a doctor"????? After I begged for months telling him how sick i was on demon patch??

You all are wonderful to help and GOD BLESS YOU ALL for explaining what happened with the system today. That makes a lot of sense.

I also use Windows XP and IE 8. Probably what happened.

There was a glitch today, MH worked on it all day, they just got it back up and running a little bit ago.  It only seemed to affect people with Windows XP using IE 8.

I wanted to say, I don't get that your doc can't get you in sooner.  Every doc has sick appts.  That's what you need.  Did you try to call them again?  I think you REALLY need to push the issue with them and tell them you must be seen.  You've really been suffering.

Yes, I am taking 40 mg of Vicodin ( in divided doses over a 24 hour period) and
6 Mg Xanax in divided doses over a 24 hour period.
I take magnesium, vitamin C , Ensure with all the multi vitamins, and try to eat every couple of hours.
I also take Prilosec ( 20mg) per day for my torn up stomach acid reflux from the DEMON PATCH.

And, I take Lopressor ( BP med ) 50 mg in the morning and 50 mg at night.

That is all. I really want to keep the taper as safe as possible. Like I said, that horrible pain doctor who prescribed it is NOT helping at all.  Heard from his own people in his office that the DEA is already onto him. I JUST found this out about 2.5 weeks ago !!!!!

Sorry to hear about your struggle.  I went cold turkey off a 75mic fentanyl patch in 2007 and that was a big mistake.

I would suggest a slow taper and if possible take off work. The wd lasted a good 30 days then slowly got better.

I just really need to know what to expect. At this point, knowing what is coming is so helpful. Anxiety is hell, but I am reaching within to try and calm myself down- (with PRAYER, GOD, some lovely , lovely people here,) GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!

Sorry, I am someone who likes to know if there is anyone out there who can share their stories. It would be SOO good to hear from anyone out there with going off the patch.

My PCP is trying to help me, but he is not available until Nov 26 to help and see me- I have tried to  see him sooner, but no luck.

I am TRYING SO HARD to take it one day/moment at a time. Symptoms are : Anxiety, severe muscle cramps, abdominal distress and cramps, runny nose, insomnia, Forcing myself to eat. It is like having to be RE-BORN again without that DEMON DRUG in my body !! But, I PRAISE GOD that I went OFF of it on Sept 21. Will NEVER, NEVER GO BACK to this again !!!!!  

First time in my LIFE I have had these symptoms and gone off an opiate patch as strong as Fentanyl.
