Day 14 Clean

WOW!!! Is no energy the norm at this point in recovery. If so when should energy start reappearing? It is a drain to walk around costco with Family. Looking for some folks that are past where Im at to give me a heads up at to what I should expect from this pont forward.

Yep....It all takes time.  The good part is you get it back, you just gotta wait it out and try to stay positive.  I just got back from playing basketball and feel fine and it's 7 PM here.  I hadn't played in about 5 years.

minn66 is exactly right. And consider, part of the fatigue is mental; most of what you're doing now you did on meds. Your mind does not have that stimulation, and although you may actually be physically OK, your head remembers how much easier or "fun" everything was on meds.
And by the way, 14 days is monumental. Within the next couple of weeks you should be seeing positive changes coming in leaps and bounds. Great job.

For a lot of us, the pills gave us false energy. I read a great post on here, I believe it was yesterday, about that and it made sense. We have to get our bodies to create natural energy. I still sometimes feel that I am not as productive now, but I realize I was hard on my body while I took them. Just keep doing what you're doing. At day 14 you are well on your way! It really does get better, just know that any energy you had from the pills was exaggerated. Hang in there :)

Rod - my fatigue lasted a good while - at least 30 days before I really started getting stamina back.  About 40-45 days I really turned a corner.  Remember this didn't happen in 14 days and your body needs time to recover just like it would if you had pneumonia or some other ailment that drained your system.  People with mono and other immune stuff can take months and months to recover.  We live in a fast food, instant gratification society which doesn't help us to have patience.

TIME AND PATIENCE, TIME AND PATIENCE

Everyone is different....time is a great healer for mind and body.  I'm no doc, but just MY experience has been that you can aid in the healing by putting good HEALTHY foods in your body, taking vitamin supplements and just doing good-for-you things in general.  I'm obsessed with my morning mulit-vitamin and afternoon protein shake with Super Vitamin B complex and getting outside to get that awesome D!! :o)  Keep it up...you're doing great!  Remember this is just the beginning of a great new life!

Nice...you will be back to full strength eventually, for now you just gotta enjoy the 50% or whatever it is you feel you are at. I feel like 90% physically and 75% mentally at day 35.  But it's a hell of a lot better than when I was pill popping just to feel what I thought was normal.  The fatigue is almost a daily reminder of how much we F-d up our systems.

Thats way cool. Funny thing I just got back 1 hour ago from signing my family up at the YMCA. Now I just have to figure out how I am going to muster the energy to utilize the membership.

I think that is the reason I am so tired walking around and doing so many errands. Then be the early evening you would think I would have done a 5 mile run. UGGG.

The fatigue lingers for a while.  I still have little bouts with it in the late afternoon/early evening but I notice it's way better now then it was when I was where you are.

I'm 16 days clean. I'm still tired, however i can't stress how important it is to move your body!!! As much as you can. Push yourself. Get some sun. Anything. The more you lay around the more tired you will be.
