It's my 22nd birthday today I've been habitually taking Percocets for at least a year and a half now. When I'm on them I feel much more open and confident or at least I did,now it seems like I take them just to feel normal. The high isn't the same, almost non existant infact. I'm sick of having no money for even the essentials because most of my money goes to my habit. And I hate having to lie and make excuses to my family in order to hide my addiction. I'm ready to end this chapter of my life and make something of myself.

Kev that's great.  So you want to quit.  Let me tell you that u found this site at the right time.  In no way am I diminishing your habit in any way by saying that you haven't been using for too long.   U need to get out now.  You may seem more outgoing n life seems more exciting in pills but I promise you and this is a fact; life will decline.  You are seeing some of the declines now , less money, lying..... I'm telling u it gets worse.   You eventually have to take more and more to achieve that high until you finally climax n start chasing life again.   When u start taking 30 pills a day u r no longer looking to get high.  U want yourself back.   It is a crazy ride.  
I  am over 7 months clean now from a 7 year habit.  Life is way better now.   Do this now before it gets out of hand.

I don't think I've ever been more committed to stop once and for all, but at the same time I'm scared that I'm going to get a call from a friend, an opportunity to get pills and I'm gonna take it. I will tell myself that I can quit another time and just fall back in to that same pattern... It's happened before.

You are going to have to cut ties with your supplier.  Changing your number would help.  You gotta change your playground and your playmates now.  Stay strong and fight with everything you have.  You can do this.

Thanks for the good advice and birthday wishes you guys. I just have to keep the goal at the forefront of my mind and occupy my time with things not related to pills. It's gonna be difficult to cut ties with the people I do pills with Ive known most of them since elementary school. It almost feels like I'm leaving them behind.

There is a saddness when we have to give up those people we have been with for so long but you have to surround yourself with those that support you.  When we clean up we also find out who are real friends are.

It was so hard to cut ties with some of my connections, because i was friends with them but i had to! And thank god i did because recently i have been so close to relapse that if i still had my connections i very well would have used again! Its definitely the best thing to do so when you're weak you it wont be easy for you
