Day 10, staying strong despite new ailments

Good evening everyone. Just an update that day 10 is almost over without incident. Kind of a weird day today and just hoping to ge a little feedback. I understand I am now into the mental portion of the recovery process, but today was almost like I was stoned.
I awoke after 5 short hours of sleep at 5:30 am, and I frigging hate mornings. I tried to force myself back to sleep but no luck. My mind started drifting towards work and then I just decided to shower, and get into work a couple hours early. I was fine until early this afternoon when I went into a fog. I had a headache that resembled something we have all had after toco many pills. Eyes were watering, queasy, and just couldn't focus in one on one meetings I was having with my reps.
I understand I had an earlier than expected morning but by 5pm, exhausted!!!!!!! Like, I could lay my head on my desk and go right to sleep kind of exhausted.
I still feel extremely zoned out, with a monster headache.
I know, I know, it's probably normal right.
Maybe if I could just visit the Sonrissa, minn, pat, waz, Dixie, paradise neighborhood I would be ok, lol! Do you you ladies have a golf course that JC and I could play?

I don't play golf myself, yet I have developed an interest in it after having the opportunity to attend the Phoenix Open. I had a blast! Loads of fun to watch in person. I had no idea golf fans can get so wild. Sounds like an oxymoron, doesn't it? Got to experience the famous 16th Hole, too! Got to see Lefty and Singh. It was awesome!

Yeah, our bodies definitely get thrown out of the loop when we quit the pills. My sleep cycle has changed forever, I guess. Maybe partly because I'm just getting older. Hope you're doing better today :)

Hugs,
Minn

Thanks waz and kleen. Work is extremely stressful right now which doesn't help. I'm understand completely about it being a marathon not a sprint. I really think less about using, than I ever imagined, but you are exactly right, years of abuse and then want immediate restitution back to normalcy. I am going to try the ensure and hopefully that will help.

Enjoy traverse city waz, that's where I grew up, and still have a cottage just out of town. Beautiful time  to visit even if it's for work.
I had to move out of TC because I tamed all of the golf courses, errrr not really, lol!!!

Double Digits is so empowering to see, isn't it?  Patience my dear friend.  You know my line by now..you have just exited a train wreck.  Do not expect to put on your tap shoes and dance naked in the street (unless of course you are up for that!  Perhaps naked golfing is in need).

I will tell you although once I reached day 10, I felt a bit stronger every day it wasn't until I reached the 3rd week that I really began to feel me coming back. Not at 100%.  I still have my days of ups and downs.  But now I can go hours and hours being productive.  Sleep remains my biggest issue. When I sleep well I perform well that next day.  My body clock is completely off and the latest I'm able to stay in bed is around 3 am.  So I get up.  What happens is I start to crash too early.  Last night I went to a business event that didn't get me home until close to 10. Usually I'm out by then.  I read for a bit to calm myself, felt I had to take my Ambien and slept til 4:30.  That was a treat.

I am experiencing headaches too.  And I'm just going to go with the fact my brain is trying to figure out how to handle no narcotics.  Queasy?  Still hits me at odd times.  Several of us find Ensure is the answer.  It's a very potent meal in a bottle and actually tastes great.  There are many blends and flavors.  I use Ensure Boost in chocolate flavors.

So there will most definitely be a golf course. Indeed.  And although I am certainly no golfer, I'm pretty sure with the "gang" all in their own carts running wild, this will be exceptional.  I can close my eyes and visualize it.  Sonrissa swinging her 2 x 4 knocking out any negative forces while cruising over greens.  Dixie stuck in a sandtrap laughing from her heart.  Minn hiding behind a tree demurely pointing her detox gun and random golfers..  Me?  I will surprise you with my plan.

When you are frustrated or tired or anxious.  Step away.  Even for 5 minutes.  Change your locale.  Even for 5 minutes.  Breathe deeply.  In and out.  Stretch your body.  Look up and give thanks.  Because you are free.  mad love  (oh yeah...heading to Traverse city in about a month for a huge business conference with most of the "meetings" on the courses.  I'll be driving the cart ;)

We have 6 golf courses in our community. We are the golfing community of TN and the courses are drop dead gorgeous. Lots of folks here from Michigan. I understand it is a straight run.

Anyway, yup---you ARE right where you should be so just go with it. Your disease will talk to you, sometimes very loud and sometimes so soft you are not sure what it is saying. It wants you to use so it will tell you that you are tired. It will tell you that you have headaches. It will tell you anything to get you to use. So whatever you do--don't use.

You have heard a few members talk about aftercare. Those who participate are usually the ones who get some time under their belts. If you are interested just ask.

In the meantime, hang in there We use for a long time and expect our bodies and minds to heal overnight. It takes time so be patient. Keep posting. It does help.

Well ladies since it is your neighborhood, you get to drive the carts. Just remember golf is a gentlemens sport. You can't go all buck wild out there with music blasting, dancing around the greens. however, if the barbecue is as good as it sounds, then It's SECRET DETOXERS GIRLS GONE WILD!

I don't like golf.  That little windmill arm keeps getting in the way of my putts.

Lol ok ok I get the golf thing. I already told u I'd take the happy Gilmore approach!!! Lol I got a mean swing but can't put for $hit!!! Lol. My boys play good... 15 and 14. They golf low 40,s sometimes high 30's!!! So  I'm down to try. As for that feeling so tired crap. Yeah start with black coffee. Then I take a multivitamin for active metabolism. It has caffeine in it. Then I take the amino acid L tyrosine for more energy. I take 1500-2000 mg of it. It does help!!! I've been doing over an hour of cardio the last few days no problem. Then I have another and last dose of caffeine at 12. So usually around 6-7 I'm getting tired. Then I do the calcium mag liquid melatonin and hylands sleep aid. Knocks me out for 8-10 hours every night. The more sleep I get the better I feel. Oh I want to drive the golf cart too. I think me and sonrissa have a bumper game to attend!!! Lol. Hang in there mister. It does get better ok!!

Hi Bones! Yes of course the Bones & JC 18 hole PGA golf course will be ready and waiting fore (get it) you in the neighborhood!! I get to be your first caddy, ok? Plus, I've always wanted to drive one of those golf carts! LOL

Now to your issue! Dr. Sonrissa is on an Ensure, high protein, low sugar kick! I get the same exact way sometimes In The afternoons! Especially the queasiness! These shakes really work wonders! Get some, make sure they are really cold, shake em up and drink! I don't know why, but I feel much better and seem to have more energy!! Try it you"ll like.. So proud of your success! You are awesome!!

Lol, natural herbal hippie shop! Let us know what you got and how it works.
Yes, there's a golf course and you fellas are welcome too. Plenty of bbq for everyone... and pie (I always hear Cartman's voice when I read "pie" ;)).

Wow, it does sound like you had a surreal day. I think your body is just still a bit out of whack. I started waking up at 4 : 30 every morning after I quit the pills, when I used to get up at around 6. Lol, good thing I work 7-3:30. If I had to go in later and work later I don't know if I could make it.

You're doing great, congratulations on 10 days!

Hugs,
Minn

Day 9 for me and I am having similar issues. Not the fog but the headache, limited sleep and in some crazy back pain. The good news is my depression is still almost nonexistent. It's going to be tough fighting the pain free vs depression free roller coaster. I don't have an urge to use but the pain is nuts! You are still a day ahead of me and I hope it stays that way. Congrats on 10 days free. Are you taking any vitamins or supplements? I have gone to the natural herbal hippy shop and got some vitamins. Just started today with those.
