How do I overcome withdrawals when I stop suboxone completely?

I have been on suboxone for the past 2 years as I have recovered from an oxy additcion I had for about a year.  I started at 4mg and have slowly tapered down to .5 mg per day. I am concerned about the next step as it seems to be a longer process to start feeling normal again than I would have expected. I plan on tapering back to every other day for the next 2 weeks and then to every third day for the following two weeks and then quiting completely with the hopes of eliminating as much of the symptoms as possible.  I also have several supplements ready to go: Calm Support, DL Phenylalanine, Elimidrol, and Nuskin LifePak Vitamins.  I also am highly active and will exercise daily and hit the sauna consistently.  Any other suggestions? Thank you in advance for any insight you share!

I commented on your comment on my thread.  I stayed at .5 for a month because this amount also took me a long time to adjust to. See my comment and feel free to msg me!

Tapering down as low as you did will help a lot stay strong just move forward one day at a time. And keep us updated. 38 hrs for me. Keep pushing we will get there.

Hi, welcome, we cannot give tapering advice but I will say that my favorite saying about withdrawls is from one of our members: "You just have to be okay with not being okay for a while." That always stuck w/ me when I was detoxing. We use for so long we have to remember it's going to take a while to recover.

Everything you're doing sounds good, especially the exercising. Just expect that sleeping is the last to come back and expect your moods to be haywire for a while. The BEST thing I recommend is AA or NA. Once we put the opiates down, we are still addicts w/o the drugs. That's when the real work begins.

Keep posting and you can do it:)
