HI I was the one that recommended the whey protein shake mix its full of vitamins and amino acids as well as protein all of witch the brain needs to heal ...walmart carys it but they just uped the price to 15buck...its still worth it the chocolate flavor is good and all you got to do is mix it with milk with a spoon no blender or anything...I still drink 2 a day and it seamed like my recovery moved along a bit faster after I started on them...
good luck and God bless......Gnarly
ooops, apart from all the above, i remember now that when i was in the middle of one of those nights the only thing that make me feel better was one of those ice gel-creams for restless leg that you can fing in drugstores. It was like putting ice on my legs, but i swear that it helped me.
as for the lack of energy, you could try this amino Ltyrosin, it helped me a lot too along with the vitamins, the protein shakes, etc...and of course, exercise, i know you'll think that you exercise enough with 5 children and i agree :) but having a walk its relaxing also )
Thank you! All of your words of encouragement and advice are helpful. I am fearful that the rls is going to last for a few weeks. I have 5 kids and I am needing to be able to function to care for them. We do not have any help with the exception of my brother and I can not let him know what this is all about. (not Yet) I am sure he is wondering what is going on with supermom but it is just a bad cold. I checked on here to get the parts to the entire Thomas reciept. I just went for a walk and while the blood is pumping I am going to try to run to the store. I will look for the RLS med and I think I am going to try the protien drink somebody else wrote about on here.
Hi~ It will last for a few weeks but improve everday! There's much you can do as stated above. You need to take calcium, magnesium and potassium supplements as in a good multi vitamin. Drink orange/apple juice. Tonic water has quinine in it which helps a lot so drink that. The hot baths really help;take several a day. Put a heating pad on your legs. Walk around, bend at the knees frequently, keeps the blood flowing. Try Motrin 800mgs up to 3 times per day. Also,Nyquil without the decongestant, as directed, can just help in general.
Hang in there and keep posting~

yeah, i remember only too well this crazy tribal dancing with my legs ( and sometimes arms ) during the nights, lol.. but follow the advices anewlife has just given to you, they really help , good luck tonight :)
The RLS varies from person to person but I can imagine on day 2 it's not too pleasant. Have you tried Hyland's Restful Leg (think that's the name but for sure it's Hyland's something Leg), bananas may help, taking Magnesium before bed, hot baths with Epsom salts, and exercise! Believe it or not it may help! Hang in there :)
