hydrocodone withdrawal day , I think

I had posted last Saturday about how crappy I felt, and all that. Well I feel MUCH better, i can stay asleep for more than two hours! I still get headaches but I've always been prone to migraines, I'm a bit more happy than before, and I'm slowly getting my appetite back :) it DOES get better, if you think it doesnt.

Hi and happy thanksgiving.
No, no kids. Me and my husband moved out to Hawaii over a year ago so it's just us here. We are flying to CA dec 11 to visit so don't want to feel crappy then so I figure I will get off after the trip. We will just be home for Christmas anyway so I don't really have to worry about feeling too good.  But I may just wait and see if I can take a week off work in January and go cold turkey, not sure yet.  I know exactly what you mean about the mornings.  It just gets you going, that will be the hardest part for sure.  Congrats on 7 days tho!

I think you said you had kids too eh? If you're wanting to quit,I'd suggest trying ASAP. If you wait intil mid dec you're still going to feel pretty crappy at Christmas. This was my biggest goal right now is to be in a good mental state at Christmas for my kids. But sweetie, that's up to you too. You have to quit when you're ready or it just doesn't work. ;) much love Krissy xox

Well I can't believe it myself. I've never made it longer than 24 hrs. I didn't think I'd be able to go on without them. Now in 10 more hrs it will be day 7. ;) I think the mornings are deff the hardest because it would always be the first thing I would do. Pop my pain pill, let it kick in then get the kids ready for school. On and in with my day. I still feel very lost.

I feel like I need them now in the mornings to even get started at work.  They do give energy yet when I take too many, I don't feel great and I get tired.  I first told my friend too but then told my husband. I had to. Hated sneaking around. Now I don't have to hide when I go pick it up or take them. But I plan on stopping mid dec. I think.  I want to try to tapper, see if that works.  Or else just stay home from work for a week and feel like crap.

I was only on them for a little over a year, but I took a lot of them, it made me feel like I was on top of the world, first I took hem for pain, then for a high, I stopped last Thursday and it was just terrible, I hated everything and felt like I'd never be the same again, but I do feel better now, everybody withdrawals differently, especially depending on how long you've been taking them, I hear hydrocodone withdrawal don't last too too long, but you do still have cravings and I'd recommend NA meetings even when you start feeling better. That's great you told your husband! I haven't told anybody, besides a friend, couldn't bring myself to tell my boufriend, he did notice I was taking a large amount but I lied and said it was for a toothache, terrible but they control you, you can do it :) I promise! It's hard but you have your husband and everyone on here to support you! :)

Hey there, I was on oxycodone ir 5mg around 10-12 a day. But I started at 20mg 6 times a day. Friday was my last one at 8am. It was a real rough start but feeling a bit better today. Telling your husband was really good, you'll need the support when you decide to quit. I told mine yesterday. But he's not here anyway,he works away 6 weeks at a time. And I was on them 11 years.

Hi Krissy
you were taking hydrocodone?  that is what I am on right now.  I know I need to get off, just haven't done it yet.  I did tell my husband finally the other day so I feel good about that.  How long were you on them and when did you stop?  I am taking 10/325 anywhere from 3 to 10 a day...

I understand sweetie. But cutting off all your ties is a huge step that has to be done. Knowing I had a script would taunt me until I was crazy lol i felt so much better when I came clean to my doc.

I was just going to try avoiding the doc and the mall, but ya I guess your idea sounds better. I will have to get groceries one day here. Lol. Sorry,if I can't laugh at myself over stupidity what can I do. I've just been scared to call there yet, haven't felt strong enough.

Oh ok. No it' has to be prescribed. If you want to stay clean you need to call and cancel all scripts ASAP. And tell your doc NO more pain medicine. If you don't do that you have a higher chance of relapse. Not trying to discourage you. You are doing AWESOME! I'm so proud you have made the choice to get clean. I feel absolutely amazing and I'm a month in! I can't wait to see how I'll feel in another week or few months. It can be done!

Thank you for answering me shawnee1988. I started to feel actually ok today. Physically anyway, then this gosh awful neck an head pain started. Is this meloxicam just OTC? I can't see my doc right now. He's a big trigger,no way I'm ready for that yet. I know I'll cave just at the sight of his building. I can't even go to the mall, because I know my monthly scripts sitting there waiting to be picked up. So messed up. :-/

Krissy, detox is different for everyone. I got SEVERE foot pains. I mean so bad I couldn't sleep. It should pass shortly. I gave started on a medicine called meloxicam. It's almost like a really strong Tylenol and does wonders! Hope this helps, it should pass soon.
